Project Summary
This project arises from the interest of the organizations that are part of the consortium that encourages it to contribute to the construction of a critical citizenship, in solidarity with people and responsible for the planet, through the strengthening of capacities in teachers and students to develop the new global educational competence collected in PISA 2018 (PISA 2018 framework, Global Competence). For this, we have developed 5 didactic proposals for the classroom and their didactic and teacher training guides and a multilingual online platform with free access, in turn, we have contributed to strengthening the capacities of teachers through theoretical and practical training, for the development of educational interventions that facilitate the development of this competence in students and within the framework of formal education.
To this end, the consortium made up of the Oxfam Intermón Foundation (Spain), the Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Leiria (Portugal), Espais Telemàtics (Spain), AIDGlOBAL (Portugal) and Oxfam Italia (Italy) have worked together in the development of the online educational proposal Conectando mundos (www.conectandomundos.org), which is a proposal that integrates the theoretical and practical training of teachers for the promotion of knowledge, values, attitudes and skills of global competence in the classroom, as well as a practical proposal of activities for students, for collaborative work between students from different countries, mainly Spain, Italy and Portugal.
The activities carried out were mainly:
– 5 educational proposals for the classroom aimed at students from 6 to 17 years of age, in which 16,525 students have participated, from 10 countries: Spain, Portugal, Italy, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Malta, Mexico, Peru and Morocco and 356 schools. -5 didactic guides for teachers
-1 online platform for collaborative work between classrooms in different educational centers, with collaboration and communication tools
-training module for teachers on global competence and the subject of teaching proposals: sustainable development and climate change
-Evaluation questionnaires for the teaching staff and for the student body participating in the project.
The educational proposal Connecting worlds in which all activities are framed, is based on collaborative online work between students from different contexts and diversities, through collaborative teams, students from different educational centers, carry out participatory activities in the classroom and share through of the internet, conclusions and resources, at the same time that they jointly develop a final product aimed at action for social transformation on a personal, environmental or global level. The educational proposal also has training materials and guidance guides for teachers, all on the same online platform.
