Project Summary

CorSer has as objectives to exchange good practice in coordination and provision of high quality, evidence based services for students with dyslexia in primary and secondary education and improve coordination of these services – identification, remediation, accommodation, use of ICT, support in other subjects like second language acquisition – between the teachers and also levels of education not to exclude junior high and secondary school. This is all so that students with dyslexia have strong literacy skills, and when it cannot be achieved, understand how to use tech support so they can learn. The ultimate target groups are teachers and students.
In our information driven world, literacy is a key skill for youth to be able to succeed. Europe has the challenge to produce literate citizens – whether people who were born in Europe or those who have immigrated to Europe. Tools to help those who struggle with literacy are available, but are often not used or coordinated effectively. CorSer will create a set of trainings that will teach staff from dyslexia training organisations how to provide identification, remediation, and accommodation for students who struggle with reading, and to coordinate services in the subject classroom- the place closest to the student.
There will be four trainings and 12 partner staff will participate in each and 10 local educators will join for each training. At the end of each training, the hosting organisation will hold a 1/2 day conference that will share what was learned and how it was learned. There will be over 200 direct beneficiaries. Further, training materials will be shared on partner organisation websites. Training materials will also be placed on the Erasmus + Project Results Platform.
All staff trainees will be educators or related to education and will be expected to share what they learn in schools and other education establishments.
The most important long term benefit will be in creating an environment in schools in which struggling readers will be helped and supported in attaining their education goals.
