Project ABLE2DO offered a new way to promote employability and competitiveness of youth, integration of low-skilled young people into labour market, promoting youth entrepreneurship. The main aim of the project ABLE2DO is to develop entrepreneurial mindset and sense of initiative of young people through national craftsmanship, their responsible attitude and abilities to find and provide high quality products and services in accordance with local needs and national economic perspectives of the involved European countries through transfer of best practical experience and entrepreneurial skills of creating products and services of high quality by “Made in Italy” example.
In order to contribute to the solution of the youth employment problems, the project ABLE2DO has facilitated the entry of young people to the labor market, encourage youth actively engage in entrepreneurship, through implementation the following objectives:
1) to involve young people in entrepreneurship through learning of artisan crafts,
2) to develop a solid system of values – the work ethic and the apprenticeship sacrifice, responsibility for the result, the pursuit of excellence, etc. that can effectively counter the possible apathy drift with no future for young generations and facilitate their integration into labour market;
3) to internationalise and share the know-how and best experience of Italian Artisan Crafts (“Made in Italy”) as a function of the mutual development of Craftsmanship’s Future of Europe, testing it and introducing it during this pilot project in such countries as Latvia and Lithuania, but then in other EU countries;
4) to facilitate preservation of national ancient crafts by encouraging young people to support unique crafts of their own country and to renew the “unique value” of “Made in Latvia” and “Made in Lithuania” and following their example in other EU countries and ensuring a “Gold Reserve” of professionalism to the involved European countries and a future for artisan crafts in Europe otherwise destined to disappear;
5) in a long-term perspective to build a “bridge” between craftsmen and entrepreneurs by sewing up the dialogue to the “know how” of ancient roots in the name of the transmission from generation to generation.
Main activities of the project ABLE2DO were following:
1) short-term joint staff mobility for youth workers and trainers (study visit);
