Project Summary

The project “Create your own story” stems from the need to promote a path of respect for diversity and to foster integration aimed at improving the well-being and psycho-social health of adolescents through the learning of skills useful for the management of emotions and social relations.
In fact, it is becoming increasingly clear that young people are not equipped with the skills necessary to face the growing demands and stresses they face in their growth path.
Therefore we propose interventions that see the recipients involved in taking responsibility for their own health and participation in society. Active learning is, in fact, a dynamic process that is built with the joint and synergistic contribution of learner and teacher
Through the use of creative writing and video production essential key skills will be improved, participants will experience first hand what they are talking about by reflecting and comparing themselves with others and during this process they will combine emotional and cognitive aspects.
The objective is to promote socio-affective education through artistic activities and to teach Life Skills not only to young people already at risk or with problems, but to everyone, because it is believed that these interventions have a preventive value and are effective in improving quality of life.

Objectives:
– Cultural growth and acquisition of skills that can be spent in the school environment and in the context of life through various linguistic, social, logical, motor, perceptive-sensory, personal and autonomy skills.
– Enhancement of autonomy and creative thinking by stimulating the imagination of students through the development of expressive tools such as communicating real and imaginary experiences in the mother tongue and the English language and expressing their thoughts and emotions through graphic / pictorial language and through means for video production.
– Further development of the school’s cultural resource and promotion of meetings, communications, relationships, integration, inclusion through collaborative activities aimed at improving the educational offer and removing situations of hardship and marginalization.

The project is aimed at all students and school staff. In the planned mobility will take part 18 pupils aged between 10 and 14 years and three teachers for each participating institute. In the project will also take part 3 students who manifest a cultural hardship, characterized in some cases by attitudes of rejection or disinterest towards any form of learning, in other cases by socialization difficulties (cognitive deficiencies).

Expected results:
– fluency in English aimed at communication, both oral and written;
– greater inclusive dimension of the school;
– exhibition of the works carried out throughout the project in the various school venues through photographs, posters, booklets, the casket of stories;
– theatrical performance written by the students and promotional videos recorded to raise awareness of social inclusion.
