Project Summary
The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) refers to: “recognizing that disability is a concept that evolves and is generated from the interaction between people with disabilities and barriers due to attitude and environment avoid their full and effective participation in society on equal terms with others, noting with concern that, despite these various instruments and activities, people with disabilities still find barriers to participate on equal terms with others in social life and that their human rights continue to be violated in all parts of the world, recognizing the importance of individual autonomy and independence for people with disabilities, including the freedom to make their own decisions and proposing to raise awareness in society, including at the family, to increase awareness of people with disabilities, promote respect of the rights and dignity of these people, fight against stereotypes, prejudices and harmful practices towards people with disabilities, including those based on gender or age in all areas of life and promote the awareness of the abilities and contributions of people with disabilities “.For this purpose they propose, for example, to promote the recognition of the capabilities, merits and abilities of their contributions in relation to the workplace and the labor market, a proposal that we share as one of the objectives of this project among 4 special education schools. We proposed to generate an audiovisual product that will actively contribute to motivate, make visible and promote the change that is taking place around the hiring of people with disabilities. Our objective was that all of them, workers, students and businessmen were the protagonists of the film, the script and the graphic history. We had public entities agreement to generate multiplier events and disseminate the innovative product created. We shared this idea with 3 other special education schools in Poland, the United Kingdom and Lithuania with similar characteristics that a priori were interested in making a social contribution in the European framework related to students who study with them. We proposed 3 necessary worklines: a) Specific training through a structured course on the generation of audiovisual products adapted to special education in the first mobility to Malaga. B) Other 3 mobilities that allowed us to travel with students and generate in each of the schools part of this material, scheduling, organizing it and finally editing it together with external collaborators. c) Develop a series of activities throughout the 2 years of project whose objectives were:-Reflect on the current systems of access to work for people with disabilities-Make visible the skills they have and the jobs they can develop -Propose alternative systems of organization for access to an autonomous life that promotes their well-being and autonomy -Propose models of incorporation to the labor world that respect their rights and their capacities, enabling autonomy and self-realization through a paid social contribution-Create an audiovisual intellectual product that combines the active role of students, makes visible the current situation and that contributes to generate a change in the statistics of employment.-Develop the responsible use of ICT with this students, favoring their active participation in society, contributing to an individualized technological literacy adapted to their disability. For this we had the participation of special education teachers (12) and students with special needs (16) for the mobility from all countries to Málaga. We also included students who did not travel but did participate in the activities in the schools. Due to different problems with the members of this project, we finally only made the mobility to Malaga in which students from Lithuania, Poland and the United Kingdom participated together with Spanish as receiving coordinator. In it the above mentioned professional audiovisual workshop, project meetings and different cultural activities and within the educational center took place. We generated a small audiovisual product since a recording and production team from Malaga participated to carry out the practical part of the workshop: learn to do an interview, types of plans, choice of funds, etc. This workshop was carried out due to the previous preparation of all the materials by the workshop teacher and the school of Malaga, since the rest of the group did not perform these tasks in the proposed period of time. The students enjoyed the activities, the teachers accessed specific training and the families showed their joy and interest in knowing the project. In the long term, for our school, a great experience in management, coordination and realization of audiovisual products.
