Project Summary

Club for Youth Empowerment 018 (KOM 018), Serbia implemented the project “Creativity Creates Change” within Erasmus + program – the Capacity Building in The Field of Youth action, with its partners: Council for Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency (SPPMD) – Macedonia, International Development Alliance – Bulgaria, Red Cross Novo Sarajevo – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Do-Lo-Ri – Albania, Greenways SCE – Greece, Eurobug – Ireland and Du vent dans les cordes ASBL (DVDLC) – Belgium, bringing together young people from 8 countries to explore the creative methods used in youth work in different parts of Europe and how they can be used in the combat against hate speech. The idea of having such diverse range of organizations such as youth organizations, cultural organization, social corporate enterprise, organization in the training field, is to establish strategic cooperation as different types of organizations can bring different experience and expertise in the project.

Aim:
To improve and strengthening European youth cooperation among organizations from 8 countries

Objectives
• To provide 24 youth workers and volunteers with the knowledge, skills and competences to use creative methods in youth work
• To increase the skills and competences of 24 youth workers and volunteers about the combat against hate speech online and the use of the creative methods in the promotion of this issue
• To develop new forms of creative youth work
• To educate 24 youth workers and volunteers to plan and organize awareness raising campaign using the creative tools designed through local workshops previously done
• To launch and test new methods through awareness campaign about the problem of hate speech online

Implemented activities in the project were:
1. Capacity building activity 1: Coordination meeting
2. Mobility activity 1: Training course 1
3. Capacity building activity 2: development of information, communication and media tools
4. Mobility activity 2: Training course 2
5. Capacity building activity 3: information and awareness campaigns
6. Capacity building activity 4: Dissemination, distribution and multiplication.
7. Capacity building activity 5: Final conference

Through set of capacity building and mobility activities partner organization discussed and learned how urban art and board games can be used in the work with young people and how this art can be used in the promotional and awareness campaigns. Specific methods used: hip hop dance, hip hop music, photography, graphics (graffiti, comics, stencils, illustrations) and board games. Youth workers and volunteers were educated how to use these specific methods in work with youth promoting combat against hate speech online. There were two Mobility of Youth Workers – TC 1 was organized in Greece and TC 2 in Serbia, while capacity building activities were organized in 8 participating countries. Project “Creativity Creates Change” was implemented from 1st March 2016 till 31st May 2017.

Today, there is the increased number of the joint youth initiatives and projects coming from this region of Europe thanks to the support of the Erasmus + Program. Project is recognized by the national authorities in the Western Balkan countries, so today organizations involved in this project are also involved in RYCO process. 8 partner organizations have the increased competences to implement youth projects for the inclusion of youngsters with fewer opportunities and integration with their peers of a high quality value while coherent and unified approach for development of new creative methods for youth work is created.
