Project Summary
Creativity in late age – Seniotywność project aimed at people 60+. The main goal of the project is the personal development of adults, including seniors, and their acquisition of skills and competences to live in the information society.
Detailed objectives of the project:
– creating space for creativity,
– increasing openness to diversity,
– promoting intergenerational activities and disseminating knowledge related to creativity and innovation,
– building and developing intergenerational dialogue through culture,
– counteracting stereotypes and mutual prejudices between young and old,
– creating bonds in the group along with raising awareness,
– developing communication skills,
– building a sense of identity with the region through culture,
– audiovisual education and learning about new technologies.
The innovativeness of the project consists in training adults, including seniors, to the role of a mentor, advisor in the field of broadly understood creativity. Seniors have vast experience in various fields. Their wisdom consists of: intuitiveness, introspection, understanding, empathy, patience, reflectiveness and a certain distance to life. Selected people will receive support under the project. We assume that the environment to which we address our educational offer has a large potential of unused opportunities. Thanks to this project, we intend to open up new perspectives and new opportunities for them. Persons qualified for the project will undergo training and workshops in the following thematic areas: Creativity in culture; Creative thinking; Creative inspiration; Creativity as development resources; Engaging adults in creativity; Adult communication;
The planned project will result in:
– selecting a group of mentors – seniors,
– increasing self-esteem,
– launching adjustment mechanisms – facilitating adaptation to changes, coping with the challenges of everyday life,
– development of international cooperation between organizations dealing with adult education,
– preparing mentors – seniors to transfer the acquired knowledge in their organizations,
– implementation of activities in the field of intercultural and intergenerational education and lifelong learning,
– raising European awareness and promoting democracy,
– supporting social inclusion and equal opportunities regardless of age and health condition, thanks to contacts between the elderly and the disabled.
The results are intended for all entities interested in the early preparation of citizens for the upcoming “third century” – non-governmental organizations,
local authorities and companies. All effects of the actions will be made available for free.
