The project focused on developing media and communication, developing practical language skills, introducing innovative practice in teaching, deepening our cooperation with schools of similar profiles, increasing vocational skills and competences in the field of digital technology and the knowledge of history and history of art in connection with cultural heritage and environmental questions. Project gave all participants an opportunity to compare the educational systems, to share and exchange ideas and to learn about new technologies, to compare their own competitiveness, discover own strengths and weaknesses that would help them in their professional career. Cultural heritage is of universal value to individuals and society as a whole, but closely related to what Europe expects to see in the future. We learnt that our different culture heritage could make us see new dimensions in the field of multimedia, and helped us to find out more about ourselves. All teaching and learning activities created a path to reach the project objectives. The lectures and seminars about organizations that are involved in caring about culture, environment: UNESCO and local organizations gave students an insight into the field of culture and environment. Throughout the project students and teachers participated in training about ICT, various digital programmes and lectures of advertisement, they acquired information about current trends, focused on advertising and ethics, learnt about strengths and weaknesses of different form of mass communication – to be able to promote their views and ideas and the results of the project. The project activities promoted self-improvement and acquiring new knowledge. Well-experienced teachers form the foundation of good schools. Therefore improving teachers´ skills and knowledge is very important. Our project organized training for teachers to strengthen the professional profile of the teaching personnel and motivated them to introduce new methods into their teaching. They learnt new teaching methods in practical art subjects, especially methods involving ICT, digital technology. They improved their knowledge in special digital programs – Adobe CC programs – Premier Pro, Avid, After Effects, 2D and 3D animation. They learnt how to lead school magazine and use it in mass media lessons, new communication methods – podcasting in education, they compared the schools´ curriculum and discussed the differences. They learnt ICT tools which can help to facilitate and support teaching through CLIL. They shared a good practice in non-formal learning – organizing the school festivals – Mobilfest, FestMichael. Critical thinking and non-formal learning of both teachers and students were supported through digital learning activities and creative workshops in context with culture heritage, ecology, history of art and social science. These activities provided cross-curricular learning. During the workshops ICT proficiency was acquired by working with different media on various assignments such as logo design, posters, photography, spots, animation, shooting, creating TV news and add subtitles, working with the text, create a newspaper report to the school magazines and prepare an interview for school radio broadcasting. Participants critically assessed information, expressed themselves in cultivated way. Students from different fields of study were involved in the project. Teamwork during the activities promoted increase in mutual understanding and awareness among Europeans about their common history and about sharing their culture heritage, albeit heterogeneous. Activities provided opportunity to perfect vocational and common foreign language skills and competencies that are vital in professional career.
There were a wide range of participants in this project. Primarily there were students and teachers directly involved in the project. Each project partner was very different and provided accurate and relevant added value to each other by setting joint goals. Although only a few representatives (students and teachers) attended project activities, the students of all schools benefitted from the acquired skills and knowledge learnt at these trainings. The participants were trained as a trainer, to spread the new learnt skills and knowledge among students and teachers in their own school. Participating students (students of art schools – of all art fields of study, aged 15-19) and teachers (vocational teachers, language teachers, teachers of history, history of art and ecology) attended workshops and will be working throughout the project on assigned tasks. In total there were about 500 direct and indirect participants involved in the project.
