Project Summary

A common history between Poland and the French Department of Deux-Sevres led to a partnership between several towns. Now, the youth is a part of the exchanges which have been created between the people of our two countries. This educative project between our two schools is the second one led thanks to The European Union and moves up from the biodiversity towards the popular culture where, how the intangible heritage of our oral history of the countryside of Europe.

To build a European citizenship and a sense of belonging, the young people of the countryside must have the right to open their minds to other cultures by sharing some experiences. In order to accomplish that, they must be able to communicate, here in English, and to find out the keys of their history, the common history with the other young Europeans. The popular culture is a part of this common history, strongly attached by the tradition; a whole cultural heritage is waiting for them. Most of the time they do know this heritage by their elders, but do not understand all the mechanism, the diversity, and the necessity to keep it.

Citizens of tomorrow, we are going to lead our students towards the knowledge and the understanding of this culture, part of the social tie, through those traditions. The key parts of this project are the music, the songs and the folklore local dances.

The main objectives are linguistics, language developments, cultural (to give hope and new perspectives to the students with a complicated situation either economic or academic) and citizens as well.

60 students will be part of the mobility and international exchange, and as many as them will get those benefits by the presentation of the songs and dances collects to the primary school classes, which is a good way to reinforce the links between the middle and primary school and up those two by the learning cycle process. This project is a part of the territorial dynamic, the inhabitants and the elected representatives will be involved by the students to help them on the logistic process where the communication towards the administrates at the programming time during the cloture ceremony of the mobility between France and Poland. Throughout these 22 months, the students will work on a collect, an approbation and traceability in order to save this heritage. Thanks to the new technologies they will digitize it. They will have a close look at the way used when we are in need of something.
Then, they will see that plants, animals can add something to this culture. By example the way how men built handmade tools like the two-stringed fiddle during a wartime for instance. After that, they will practice to get and share to their primary school classmates and to the population of Poland during an event “the bal trad” where they will invite the inhabitants to share their songs, musics and dances. A movie will also be made.

Through these actions, we will look for a development of the students skills like the practice of another language, the use of the new technologies, being open-minded, being opened to the culture, but also to the knowledge of themselves, the respect of others, the use of all what they have learned in real conditions.

The result or the performance of the two schools will be a good way to grade the project impact on a middle time, but also of the participation of the students, when they will participate at the community life when they will be in high school or when they will be part of any kinds of clubs. They will have confidence to reach their goals, confidence in the society and it will contribute to maintain the social balance and in the same time, it will reinforce the links between our partners either territorial or country wise.
