Project Summary
The Culture Experiences Through Digital Environment Using (Culture.EDU) project creates an opportunity and space for collaboration between different organizations, with the aim of integrating new technologies as a tool for non-formal education, with a focus on disseminating knowledge about culture, heritage and pan-European values.
The project addresses the needs of the target group – young people aged 17-29, with attractive educational content and adapted digital resources with free access. As well as the need for a shared space to express young people’s knowledge and skills.
The project employs ICT-based approaches and methods that, in the spirit of achieving the EU’s objectives, contribute to raising awareness of the importance of culture, heritage and pan-European values. On the other hand, through transnational cooperation, the project supports intercultural dialogue, carrying out transnational activities to exchange good practices and ideas to reflect on cultural diversity and promote youth activity in the area, improving not only the awareness and knowledge but also the digital skills of the participants. The involvement of the specific partners of the Association Piligrimi and Fondazione Ugo Spirito is Renzo de Felice in the implementation of the project provides enhanced cooperation between organizations whose profile and activity are in different fields, but are intertwined and mutually supporting the development of young people, their knowledge and competences, education.
The Culture.EDU project will create a youth portal – a virtual space built on the basis of real-world research and collaboration of young people with different interests, but with a common purpose – an opportunity to present ideas and competencies.
In order to promote intercultural dialogue and support youth activism and involvement with heritage issues, the project envisages short-term mobility – including the observation of cultural monuments on the territory of Bulgaria and Italy. The information collected will be used to present the sites and share ideas for socializing them. Technology solutions such as 3D augmented reality and virtual reality, video and audio processing, will attract young people with an interest in new technologies as well as those involved in the arts. This will create new opportunities for collaboration and open up new prospects for professional realization.
The multiplication events implemented in Bulgaria and Italy will present to the general public the ideas of young people in relation to improving the socialization and promotion of cultural heritage in the targeted regions.
As a final product, Culture.EDU will create an interactive online 3D platform.
The overall objective of the project:
Creating a Youth Portal – a virtual space for collaboration between young people with an interest in history, art and new technologies. An innovative product for non-formal education with a focus on raising awareness and knowledge of culture, heritage and pan-European values.
Specific objectives:
– Providing opportunities for collaboration between different organizations, exchange of good practices and innovative solutions for working with young people in today’s digital environment;
– Creating space and opportunity for young people with diverse interests and competencies to work together as a new open approach to actively involve young people in Europe’s democratic life and their participation in the labour market, their active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity
– Developing young people’s digital skills;
– Increasing the level of motivation and interest of young people towards culture, heritage and pan-European values;
– Learning through active involvement in the digital content creation process;
– Promoting the social inclusion of young people in intercultural dialogue;
– To mediate the connection between the youth and the labour market
– To create the opportunity for the subsequent application of the intellectual product in different fields of education, management and presentation of heritage, tourism.
The project incorporates a diverse methodology related to the objectives and a stimulating commitment of all partners and participants and includes:
– Teamwork methods;
– Methods for conducting research and developing analyzes in a multicultural environment;
– Methods for joint development of innovative products by young people with different interests, knowledge and competences.
Expected results:
– Developed a web-based platform with free access;
– Improving the technology skills, linguistic and social competences of the youth participants;
– Raising awareness of the culture and heritage of partner countries and enriching the cultural experience of young people;
– Opportunities for future partnerships in the field of digitalization of cultural heritage and collaboration between young people, institutions and public bodies.
