Project Summary
Both villages involved in this project have lived and live today realities characterized by the coexistence of different ethnic groups, great social division, few economic resources, low schooling, little employability, high risk of early school dropout, marginalization and the existence of problems of high risk, such as drugs, excessive consumption of alcohol, sexism, pregnancy in adolescence and domestic violence. The objectives of our project are the promotion of common European values: freedom, job creation, regional development, environmental valorisation, social integration, cooperation and the sense of belonging to a plural and global society. The activities we propose will be developed around 6 topics: the learning of the language of the neighbouring country, the knowledge of our natural environment, the exchange of knowledge as a tool for social inclusion, the promotion of employability, the values and benefits of sport and the valuation of heritage. The methodology to be adopted will involve the exchange of students and teachers, the construction of innovative and reusable materials and digital tools, both to raise awareness in the educational communities, as well as to develop key competences, joint participation in sports, cultural and charitable activities , with responsible use of new information and communication technologies, now available. The realization of these activities will allow students to believe in themselves and in a better future and to communicate in two European languages It will also allow our educative centres to be recognized for adopting more modern and dynamic methods in daily practice, integrating non-formal educational strategies in formal educational contexts. On the other hand, this project will furnish our school communities with values of equality, equity and cooperation, as well as civic behaviour and valuation and conservation of heritage. The acquisition of relevant skills and capabilities will equip our students with tools that will allow them to aspire to a better future. The ability to communicate in more than one language, to use new technologies effectively and responsibly, to make decisions based on critical thinking and the analysis of options, knowledge of other cultures, uses and customs and awareness of the civic responsibility, lead to new future perspectives. New perspectives for the future lead to greater school motivation – both for students and their families – increase the acceptance of what is different and the feeling of belonging to a plural society that goes beyond the limits of their villages, decreasing the risk of early school dropout, promoting innovation and creativity and developing employability.
