Project Summary
European countries are facing a lot of challenges today. One of them is a big unemployment rates especially among young people (further YP). Other challenge is a great depopulation of less developed European countries as a lot of people, especially young are leaving their countries.
A great problem and great opportunity lies in ICT sector. This is a sector with constant growth and constant /urgent need for workers/services. On one hand we have a great number of unemployed YP Europe wide searching for a job and in the lack of same they are migrating to other developed countries. On other side we have growing ICT sector in all countries (more or less developed, EU or not EU country no matter) desperately seeking for skilled workforce. Unfortunately formal education system can’t “produce” enough ICT skilled workforces, so the logical assumption would be to try to find or retrain people who are unemployed. Next problem is that in many countries there is no systematic program’s that can offer ICT retraining or prequalification for unemployed people. Many countries have institution/service that deals with problem of unemployment, but there are no specific ICT programs in their offer.
Because of that we have created this project and we set next objectives:
1. Development of open and innovative IT educational program and supporting tools for prequalification or retraining of unemployed YP;
2. Testing and upgrading created innovative program.
Project is built on transnational mobility initiative because it is basically an experiment which will create milestones for education program suitable for use of diverse range of people. We need to have both physical and virtual mobility in order to see, check and adapt education program on the spot. Further on we aim that this project and its initiative be a European initiative, to be used in all or many European countries as a program for retraining of unemployed people. ICT is universal, there is no language barrier, there is a great need for development of this industry and production of skilled workforce in all countries, no matter is that Serbia, Moldova or Germany and Sweden. That’s why we believe that it is possible to transfer it/disseminate it through whole Europe.
Projects results to be achieved:
– Development of new educational program;
– Testing and upgrading new educational program;
– Create a project web page as learning / testing platform;
– Increasing capacities of partner organization;
– Increase competences of participants / users;
– Creation a list of recommendations for follows up.
In order to achieve our priorities and objectives we will use youth work with mobility of young people through non-formal learning methods. Thus we will promote also youth work, transnational mobility, inclusion of marginalized sub-groups which will lead us to development of education and labour market skills. That’s why our project is focused intervention based youth work targeting employment issues faced by some groups of people, notably project target groups.
Projects tend to be part of the answer to the problem of unemployment and lack of workforce in ICT sector in whole Europe. This project is the third edition came out from the projects under “Design Your Job” initiative in our long term process through which we aim to develop simple, short, cheaper and replicable ICT educational programs accompanied by production of new curriculum’s, tools, materials. Parallel with that we are testing them both through simulation and through work in/use of real sector. These programs are aimed to be used by National Employment Services or similar support system for unemployed people, especially people with fewer opportunities in order to retrain or pre-qualify people who can’t find job in their profession. In same time this programs is very suitable to systematically raise digital competences and life-long learning opportunities to whole population of targeted country.
