Project Summary

With the changing context in how pupils are coping with the own mental wellbeing, it is becoming vital that schools teach pupils the importance of mental health, how to develop it and why it is important. We are a group of schools from Wales, England, Italy, Spain and Finland who are working collaboratively to look at ways of implementing and developing pupils wellbeing and mental heath alongside understanding the difficulty of migration and how to over come it. We are a range of schools from different socio economic backgrounds, who share similar issues. For all of us pupils mental health and wellbeing is becoming a bigger issue as well as part of our curriculum. As this is a relatively new area, there are very few initiatives and ideas on how to develop this available, therefore by Job Shadowing, Professional Dialogue, Lesson Observations, Sharing of Resources, Sharing of Good Practise and clear discemination to our staff, we intend to strengthen this area in all our schools through the good practise we have individually developed in our schools. From discussions about what each school does it is clear that we all have different approaches and programmes in developing this. We are hoping by working together we can support each other in creating a wider knowledge of pedagogical and didactic teaching methods in this area as it is becoming more prevalent to us all year on year due to the change in experiences all of our pupils are getting.
