Project Summary

-Six schools are partners for this project:
3 French schools: le Breuil secondary school in Talange, Gustave Eiffel secondary school in Talange, Gustave Eiffel secondary school in Budapest,
3 foreign schools: Bakats ter school in Budapest (Hungary), Blaise Pascal liceo in Pomezia (Italy), GGS in Neunkirchen (Germany)

All these schools, which welcome heterogeneous groups of pupils from different cultures and nationalities, face the same problem of failure at school, dropping out and the difficulty of integrating difference. Thus, each establishment, according to its specificity, has put in place prevention strategies:
the establishment of Pomezia (Italy) through its objectives of knowledge of foreign languages and an intercultural approach for artistic collaborations, the establishment of Neunkirchen (Germany) which has maintained intercultural exchanges for 25 years to enable social inclusion and fight against dropping out, the Bakáts School in Budapest (Hungary), which promotes equal opportunities through sports and the arts because each child carries values and abilities that must be revealed. The Gustave Eiffel High School in Budapest, which wants openness towards foreign countries and culture as ideals for dialogue, sharing and mutual discovery. The Gustave Eiffel vocational school in Talange (France), which is an establishment with a high social mix, attended by pupils in difficulty and dropping out of school and who have little contact with culture. Le Breuil secondary school in Talange College (France), which each year sees an increase in the number of students dropping out of school, leading to absenteeism, sanctions and exclusion, and fostering a climate of violence and intolerance.

The participation of all these schools in a single project will bring other tools to the fight against early school leaving, further promote social inclusion, develop critical thinking and arouse interest in a European cultural heritage.
Artistic practice has been chosen to achieve the objectives of this project because it develops in the personality certain qualities necessary for learning citizenship: generosity, respect, listening, responsibility, intellectual curiosity… Moreover, all these practices linked to the performing arts engage the person because they are based on the experience of each person and by the same token they are ways of taking students out of a certain passivity that corresponds to negative school experiences. In this way, they can be a lever in the fight against early school leaving and promote personal and professional success for everyone.

Finally, the theme of immigration which was chosen for these Meetings is part of the means implemented to lead these secondary school students towards a critical mind and a personal thinking in order to make them responsible citizens tomorrow.
We have chosen the following activities in order to achieve the objectives we have set ourselves:
meeting in Pomezia of all the managers of each country in order to define the tasks of the steering committee of each establishment, September 2018

We have chosen the following activities in order to achieve the objectives we have set ourselves:
– meeting in Pomezia of all the managers of each country in order to define the tasks of the steering committee of each establishment, September 2018
– 20 students from the Gustave Eiffel High School in Talange, January 2019, are admitted to the French high school in Budapest by a second class.
– All partners participate in the International Theatre Meetings (I.T.M.) in Talange in May 2019 with groups of students representative of the characteristics of each school.
– hosting by the two Budapest schools of the 4 other partners of the project, October 2019 with groups of volunteer students who commit themselves to the R.I.T. project. May 2020
– the two Talange establishments welcome the other establishments for the R.I.T. in May 2020 with the same participants as in Budapest.
– But on the other hand, the existing pairings will continue in order to give continuity to the project by creating links through artistic practice.

This project will have rewarded students through artistic practice and thus reconciled them with Effort, Learning and Perseverance.
It will also have developed in the students a more generous attitude towards the other and a critical and personal look at the geopolitical phenomena that are going through our time. This different view of the various migrations should make it possible to fight against the phenomena of rejection. Beyond the exchanges, the individual and collective links created between the students and the various partners will continue.
