Project Summary
Europe 2020 Strategy: aims to create conditions for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. Some of the areas it targets are employment, education, social inclusion and poverty reduction. Each of these areas is changing rapidly with the digitalization of our society. People need digital competence to participate in and take advantage of digital opportunities. This is a problem that needs to be addressed today. Almost half (44.5%) of the EU population between the ages of 16 and 74 have DIFFERENT DIGITAL SKILLS on “digital skills” according to the “Eurostat Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI)” data. Therefore, increasing digital skills is one of the priorities of the European Commission.
In this context, the GENERAL OBJECTIVE of our project has been determined as “Improving the digital skills of 11-14 year old students in partner schools”.
SPECIAL OBJECTIVES OF OUR PROJECT:
– To raise basic and intermediate student skills to the next level in the fields of information, communication, content development, e-security and problem solving,
In this regard, it is aimed to teach the students 30 web 2.0 tools (in the fields of information, communication, content development, e-security and problem solving) and to use them effectively.

Our project activities; It is designed to directly serve project objectives. In this direction, our project activities are divided into 3 themes: “European citizenship, democracy awareness and eSecurity for students” and it is aimed to reach the general and specific goals of our project by realizing the web 2.0 tools that students will work on.
1. Theme “Culture”
This theme was chosen in order to inform our students about the cultural diversity of Europe and to contribute to breaking the prejudices. In the activities to be carried out within the scope of this theme, our students will learn 13 web 2.0 tools used for “content development and collaboration” and they will create products.
2. Theme “Democracy”
This theme has been chosen in order to contribute to our students’ being European citizens and to be individuals who can respect different views and differences. Within the scope of this theme, they will use 9 web 2.0 tools and they will increase their knowledge and experience in using information and developing content.
3. Theme “eSecurity”
Students will be included in activities to inform our students about e-security and prevent cyberbullying on digital platforms and they will develop common content using 8 web2.0 tools.
Participating Schools
– Schools will have improved their capacity to implement Erasmus + projects.
Schools will become authority schools in their environment and institutional recognition will increase.
Schools will develop their capacity to organize activities.
Schools will develop an institutional vision that follows innovations in innovation and responds to student needs.
In the long term, our project will contribute to the training of individuals with digital competencies that Europe needs.
