Project Summary

The context of course upset the project that we had built with our partners, and that our three countries were particularly affected by the health crisis. This situation having arisen in the middle of our cooperation, we have not changed our purpose, namely the desire to work in three countries on a major work of European cultural heritage, but we have changed its modalities. We first hoped to move our mobility, first in May, then in October, by postponing the final meeting which was to lead to the creation of our piece on stage in February 2021. Successive confinements, travel bans , shifted from one partner country to another, were right in our hopes.
We were nevertheless able to adapt by offering our students various meetings and activities during confinement, either in direct connection with our project, or in relation to the situation they were experiencing on a daily basis.
The first part of the project took place: we were able to travel to Naples and work on a first part of the Dom Juan that we intended to build. We were able to interact with our partners, in particular through Etwinning, to build common texts. The health situation first affected the second mobility planned in Malaga, mobility during which we had to work the second part of our room. We tried to move it to the month of May, and during the period that opened between March and May 2021, we kept in touch by offering our students virtual meetings based on extracts from Mozart’s Dom Juan, meetings supervised by the singer and the director integrated into our partnership. These meetings were filmed and transposed on Etwinning. We then proposed to our students to edit some scenes of Dom Juan by playing them remotely, so as to have French, Italian and Spanish scenes.
We got in touch again in September to try to organize the two mobilities which allowed the pupils to meet and regroup, but the health situation having deteriorated, we had to abandon this idea.
We have therefore grouped together on Etwinnng the results of our various meetings to give an idea of a “confined Dom Juan”. We tried to find each other virtually, but the restricted functioning of the different establishments made it impossible. We ended up finding a date to officially close the project but beyond the official date imposed since only March 19, between two periods of confinement, allowed us to organize a closing day in Trappes which was able to join. the Italian partners.
From the point of view of our students, this closing was an interesting moment since it allowed them to measure the progress made: even if they were very sorry not to have been able to live a moment shared with the partners, they are everything. likewise concluded that experiencing this health crisis in a context of European trade had also changed things. From this point of view our goal has been achieved: Europe, a vague notion for our pupils, has become a reality. The confinement therefore largely hampered our project, but it strangely allowed our students to see beyond the walls of their respective apartments and to live, even at the time of confinement, even in a strong constraint, a European moment.
