Project Summary
In a global world where communication technologies are dominant, people access information quickly and easily. Communication technologies have become an indispensable part of life, as it provides easy access to information and offers the opportunity to store and share information. Along with the use of technology, the concept of conscious use of technology has also emerged. Because the uncontrolled use of communication technologies has caused malicious people to act as they wish in virtual life. Especially the commitment of school-age children to communication technologies brought cyber bullying along with it. Although societies tried to find solutions to the cyberbullying problem, they were not successful. This has been the starting point of our project. Our project is based on creating innovative learning environments with the focus of preventing cyberbullying and minimizing its effects. Because we know that the developed society that the European Union wants to create will be achieved only by raising qualified individuals. The long term goal of our project is to train 21st century students with self-esteem and confidence. In this context, our primary goals are to prevent cyberbullying, to create a safe school environment and to use conscious technology. Six countries acting together to raise awareness about cyberbullying and expand the limits of this awareness have come together. In our project, Italy, Turkey, Romania, Portugal, Poland and Bulgaria are the participants of this act. 60 teachers and 130 students will participate in the transnational activities of our project. 525 teachers and 4753 students will be aware of and participate in the local activities of the project. Parents and other school staff, as well as teachers and students, will be able to participate in the local activities of the project. Since our project is focused on a social problem, it will be tried to reach all parts of the society through dissemination activities. There will be 6 LTT activities in our project and all of them will be realized in the form of exchange of short-term student groups. Each LTT activity will be planned for different elements of the cyberbullying problem. LTT activities will be carried out within the framework of “definition of cyberbullying, determination of cyberbullying behavior patterns, e-security, cultural impact, mood of victims and bullies, healing victims and bullies”. When all LTT activities are completed, concrete results will be achieved in the way of preventing and reducing cyberbullying. New generation learning and teaching methods and techniques will be used in LTT activities. . Technological tools will be used against the negative effects of technology. Project-based learning, interactive learning, applied learning, web-based learning methodologies will be used. In LTT activities, participants will learn ways to protect against cyber attacks. Students will be able to interact securely on the Internet. Teachers will also learn how to use conscious technology and combat cyberbullying and will be able to guide students better. Parents will be able to communicate properly with their children and be aware of their child’s cyber security. A new e-security policy will be created in schools. Students and teachers will meet different web2 tools and use information technologies. Thanks to activities aimed at healing victims and bullies, students will have a better mood. Thus, a profile of students with high self-confidence, creative, responsible, cooperating, critical thinking will be formed. Thanks to the transnational visits, the participants will get to know the culture of different European countries. It will be observed how cultural differences are transformed into advantage. Participants will improve their foreign language skills. When the project is completed, students will have 21st century skills and teachers will contribute to their professional development. The educational environment created with new learning-teacher methods will increase corporate success. Thus, the quality of education will increase and important steps will be taken in the educational stage of social development.
