Project Summary

″Don’t judge a book by ist cover“ will be a pan-European project by four schools from Germany, Italy Portugal, Romania. Together with our students (aged 14-20) we want to have a critical look at the significance of fashion as means to express culture, identification / separation and to evaluate our consumer behavior as well as our knowledge about production (salary, production ways, global connections, but also re-/upcycling and FairTrade).
The focus will be put on the following aspects: – Fashion as a means to express religion and culture; Are we what we wear?; Fashion through time and space; Recycling meets upcycling /FairTrade.
Above all, we want to coin the students‘ awareness regarding the topic and the different aspects connected to it. Our main aims are showing the students alternatives to scrutinize their dealing with being different, identification, consumer behavior, preserving our environment in order to improve their tolerance towards diversity and to handle problems we’re facing in our society regarding fashion.
Besides the immaterial effect described above the material effect will be the creation of a webquest which will be worked on in the LTTAs and in the time in-between. To guarantee the realization eTwinning will be of essential importance. The webquest can be implemented into the schools‘ curricula and can be done in lessons of different subjects like Ethics, Philosophy, Natural and Social Sciences and thus, is of longterm use.
