Project Summary
The main goal of the project is to grow social and inter-cultural skills among the youth in high-school and college, including people engaged in this project. Furthermore, we want to promote non-formal teaching methods among scholars, teacher and educationalists. Last but not least, we aim to share good practices and habits, as well as addressing a need of youth collaboration in a Polish-Hungarian group.
The Transnational Youth Initiative is divided into two parts: creation of an innovative educational tool for youth and its promotion on local, national and international level. Within the group of students interested in education, history, international relationships and board games, we are going to create a co-operative board game settled in the time-frame of first historical royal dynasties of Poland and Hungary. Due to logistic constraints, we decided on a card game which will include aspect of rivalry in gathering resources. However, the final outcome of the game will strongly depend on players’ ability to work together. We wish for the game to closely resemble historical facts, thus we plan on conducting our own research in hope of finding exciting information and unique characters of that time.
The second stage is all about creating lessons script and to carry out a series of workshops for local youth, in particular from marginalized areas. All of the educational materials, in three languages, will be available on SALTO, School Educational Gateway and eTwinnig platform, as an open-source. We count on positive reception of our project and hope for its utilization in both formal and non-formal education.
The process of implementation of the project will greatly help in increasing the overall level of skill in international projects management among the participating members, as well as linguistic improvement. Tightening of international bonds and connections, as well as sharing good practices and habits, will undoubtedly lead to creation of a high quality project, not to mention the rise in professionalism of both organizations. Among our target group, we foremost want to develop social and inter-cultural skills and a spirit of international co-operation. Thanks to participating in our workshops, the youth will be able to expand their knowledge, open-minded approach to different cultures and finally, historic awareness.
