Project Summary
This project aims to respond to the identified training needs of addiction treatment professionals across the EU. To do so, the project partners will develop the first open and multilingual e-learning platform for addiction treatment professionals.
The e-learning platform will be accessible from computers, tablets and smartphones and it will include the following units:
Unit 1: prevention, intervention and treatment of addictions without substance.
Unit 2: prevention, intervention and treatment of addictions in young people.
Unit 3: the gender perspective in the prevention, intervention and treatment of addictions.
Unit 4: European drug prevention quality standards.
Once the first development of the e-learning platform is completed, the project partners will test it with addiction treatment professionals in order to assess how effective it is in delivering the target learning outcomes. The testing will simultaneously take place in six countries (Spain, Slovenia, Portugal, Belgium, Romania and Czech Republic). At least 30 addiction treatment professionals, 5 in each country, will participate in the testing.
Based on the testing results, the project partners will implement the necessary improvements before the translation and publication of the e-learning platform in seven languages (English, Spanish, Slovenian, Portuguese, French, Romanian and Czech) as an OER (Open Educational Resource) under the Creative Commons license Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0). Thus allowing anyone to freely use it, modify it and and build upon.
The project will have a huge impact because at least 1.500 addiction treatment professionals will use the e-learning platform before the end of the project and 5.000 addiction treatment professionals will use the e-learning platform within the two years after the end of the project. Furthermore, it will contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the Erasmus+ programme, the EU policies in the field of VET, and the European Union drugs strategy 2013-2020.
