Project Summary

On March 11, Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) was declared a pandemic. And then, the world has been transformed in a few months. Hundreds thousands more of people have fallen ill from coronavirus and millions of others who have not caught the disease force to change their entire way of life. In less than a month, the disease had spread worldwide swiftly. People have been told to stay in their homes and to work remotely. All the schools, pubs, theatres have been closed. In order to control the spreading of COVID-19, all this changes has led to some unexpected consequences – change of habits and digital living lifestyle.

The main objective of our project is to establish an online non-governmental organization platform where young people and youth workers can take the trainings they need during the Covid-19 pandemic period and engage in various online interactions. Thus, it is aimed that equip and empower youths with knowledge and ressources on entrepreneurship, personal learning and digitalisation needed to develop youths on yourselves with our platforms and modules. Our project aims to mitigate all these effects and sustainable of the works. In the Post Covid-19 process, non-governmental organizations should be ready to transform into an “e-NGO” model, and they should be able to digitalize their education-training and other activities they carry out normally, widely and extensively. Young people are in need of increase their knowledge level and digital skills which will also stability skills.

The target group of the project is youth workers, youth organizations and target groups of all project partners. The number of project participants is proportional to the size of the institutions involved in the project and consists of approximately 40 participants. All preparations will be completed after the launch meeting with partner institutions, which will take place before the commencement of the project activities. The project includes six main activities, as explained below.

– In the project, the challenges and needs of youth workers and youth organizations that affect their activities in the Covid-19 crisis will be analyzed first. This needs analysis will be carried out together with the partner non-governmental organizations involved in the project.Analysis primarily in France, will be held in the United Kingdom and Turkey. In addition, analyzes will be made by the host organization in Germany, Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, China, Malaysia, United States of America, Canada, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.

– Then , an educational curriculum based on needs analysis will be created by the host organization in collaboration with experts. This training curriculum will be about what kind of activities youth organizations can digitize with which innovative methods.

– Afterwards, an evaluation report related to the needs analysis and educational module will be prepared in LTT, which will be held in France, where youth workers are participating. Participants will evaluate these two outcomes.

-An online platform (e-NGO) will be created as a result of the needs analysis regarding the difficulties faced by youth workers and youth organizations in covid-19, educational curriculum that will encourage the digitalization of youth organizations and youth worker’s evaluations this outputs.

-Then, With LTT to be held in Istanbul, the online platform will be tested and improved. In addition, participants will be informed about the use of the e-NGO platform.

-After the project outputs are formed, a dissemination seminar will be held by the host organization in Istanbul with a wide participation of youth workers and youth organization leaders.

At the end of the project, it is expected that the capacities of youth, youth workers and youth organizations will increase. The innovative curriculum to be prepared in IO2 will show how measures can be taken to meet the needs of young people in crises such as the Covid-19 pandemic process. The online platform, our output in IO3, will be a concrete example of these measures. There are some resources such as websites informing about digitalisation activity of NGOs. They provide general information, the needs of young people are neglected and contents aren’t prepared in a way to attract their attention related to model of e-NGO. These project outcomes will target young people and be based on learning and guidance needs of young people.
