Project Summary
The proposed project aims at the establishment of a sustainable and long-term Strategic Partnership between national supervisory authorities, academia and civil society organisations for the delivery of knowledge and the development of skills related to privacy and personal data protection. The project is first of its kind unifying DPAs, universities and civil society organisation from 4 (four) EU members – Italy, Poland, Bulgaria and Croatia. It is a cross-sectorial project targeting horizontal policy as personal data protection is. All 28 national DPAs act independently in their countries with limited or no connection between each other. On the other hand, threats become more and more global. One of the most sustainable ways for tackling the problem is to build-up closer partnership.
1. Overall objective: Promotion of civic education and awareness in a field of privacy and personal data protection.
2. Specific objectives:
– Establishment of sustainable strategic partnership between data protection authorities, academics and non-governmental sector in the EU in the field of data protection learning and privacy awareness raising;
– Promotion of common approach and synergy among European Member States for personal data protection to delivery of non-formal digital data protection and privacy learning;
– Development of a web-based solution for providing environment for cooperation and open, innovative and inclusive non-formal digital learning in compliance with the new EU data protection legal framework;
3. Target groups:
– Adults and Practitioners: 210 participants in the Multiplier events;
– Civil Servants: 18 participants within Short term Staff Training in Starosel, Bulgaria
4. The overall impact on all target groups are increased awareness on privacy and personal data protection based on easily accessed non-formal digital learninng related to the topic for improving:
– their practical skills and knowledge on topics related to privacy and personal data protection;
– their ability for finding information related to privacy and personal data protection;
– their practical skills for protecting their personal data and advise others in the same area;
– their ability for summarizing and presenting information on privacy and personal data protection.
Target groups can find all necessary information concerning privacy and personal data protection in the internet. They can access without any restrictions non-formal digital learning. They:
– avoid violation of the regulations for privacy and personal data protection;
– build more successful systems for prevention and protection of personal data.

6. The methodology of the project proposal was based on European values and good practices principles:
– Innovation;
– Inclusiveness;
– Lifelong learning;
– Gender equality;
– Partnership.
It included consistent steps for elaboration, organisation, coordination, conduct, distribution, monitoring and controlling, and overall project assessment.
