Project Summary

• Digital Generation, born and raised in a Digital Age, use technologies in everyday life: to play, to socialise and to express themselves.
• New technologies give rise to a host of new digital literacies, which educators need to help their learners to develop (Pegrum 2009).
• We live in a world of technology, where school is blocked behind strict old-fashioned curriculums and constant new challenges from modern society.
• “e-Schools for the Future” aims to answer to this situation, throughout cooperation between students and teachers and innovation in European schools Curriculums.
• Our students were born in the Digital Era, which they master and use for everything In their lives.
• Digital Generation, however presents to schools and teachers a new kind of student.
• Modern students do not feel motivated inside traditional classrooms using traditional methods that try to transfer knowledge from teachers to student.
• Today’s school teaching methods need to adapt to the new ways of learning of our young generation, motivating them to learn and to have pedagogical success: to actively engage in
• building knowledge through entrepreneurship activities.
• Schools need to position students in the centre of the learning process
• Students need to be taught/introduced to a new digital age where technology works together with science, communication and life.
• In this way we build the basics for the new “E-schools”, allowing modern generations to build a Wonderful “e-School of the Future” where learning can always be always fun and motivating.
• “E-School for the future” believes in a philosophy of hands-on learning through building things.
In this philosophy of learning, teachers are no longer the centre of the educational process, but students.
• We believe Educational “makerspaces” (EM) and Tinkering (TI) (using innovative ICT, but also low cost technology) have the potential to revolutionise our approaches to teaching and learning.
• In the schools of the future, Students can plan and cooperate to develop their own learning projects and they can work together to overcome obstacles.
• In this way, teachers act as guides to inquiry-based approaches to the development of knowledge and thinking processes.
• Partners of our project are; Spain, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Turkey and UK-Wales.
• “E-Schools” partnership will be implemented with our students from 6-15 years old.
• We believe that promoting courses/workshops on new Pedagogical aproaches using smart devices/tablets and web 2.0 tools for teaching is an effective way of promoting the protection of EUROPEAN VALUES and encouraging teachers to keep up with constantly developing technology and to motivate students of this “Digital Generation” .
• Excessive use of ICT/technologies, however, also poses problems to students/Families in modern society. Unsupported by parents, Children frequently feel the need to escape to a virtual world, where they will meet their old friends or make new and, sometimes, potentially unsafe contacts.
• These modern Social interaction problems/challenges brings more and more our attention to the need of finding HEALTHY SOCIAL LIFESTYLES and correct “e-conduct”, assuring the balance between VALUES and TECNOLOGY, as well as the RESPECT to other cultures and other people.
• Schools needs to help teachers, schools, parents and society to develop students’ awareness of how to cope with the Social Media safely and efficiently.
• “e-School for the Future” believes it is necessary to promote e-safety courses for teachers and parents to help them to promote students well-being and assuring a balanced and successful social life.
• Our big Educational challenge is promoting healthy life styles and to reinforce students intercultural interactions as well as interpersonal skills, which are being lost in this new “virtual world”, but seem to became more and more essential for working and the social life of today.
• However, we believe that is possible to use teenagers’ enthusiasm for internet/ Social Media in education, throughout challenging projects using web 2.0 tools, robotics, 3D printing and a “hands on” approach to learning.
• These Web 2.0 tools are based on interaction and collective intelligence, which can be exploited successfully in XXI century education.
• These new school technological approaches will give students the opportunity to produce knowledge, helping them to interact with each other, sharing their ideas in an active learning environment with high level of motivation and school success.
• “E-schools for the future” will involve teachers in the research of new didactic and pedagogical approaches for inclusive learning, implicating students, parents, families, local authorities and other stake holders in the building of a multi-ethnic society, where each citizen, can have an active role in building a socially and technologically UNITED and sustainable EUROPE !…
