Project Summary
The project is entitled „EAT WELL–MOVE MORE–DO BETTER” and is going to focus on guiding and encouraging pupils and their families to develop healthy eating habits and physical activity at early ages to help reduce barriers to learning and healthy students are more likely to have higher levels of education. The objectives of the project are meeting the priorities mentioned in Europa 2020 strategy and also strategic aims of Education and Courses 2020, particulary developing teacher trainings in the partner countries, transfering and implementing innovative practices and promoting cooperation between school and local authorities. This joint European project has been designed to foster more rational, decisive and conscious pupils to promote a healthy- school concept, to inform and empower families and to improve cross-cultural partnerships in this field. By conducting project activities, we aim to have more pupils firstly, learn about healthy eating and physical activity in school which will give them knowledge and skills to make good health decisions now and in the future, secondly, eating healthy and staying active in school which will help them feel better, do better in sports, concentrate and get better grades and test scores.
6 partners will be involved in this project with approximately 2000 pupils and about 200 teachers and educators with different experience, knowledge, beliefs, but common educational ideals. All schools are public institutions, some of them have long lasting traditions, while others are brand new. Two partners had already had previous experience in European projects, on other hand, the other partners had a great deal of experience in regional or national projects. We all are very enthusiastic to cooperate in this new Erasmus+ project, aware of the risk of a poor diet and inactivity and want to change our pupils’eating habits to be healthier European citizens, are open minded to share the learning experience.
We are aware both intangible and tangible results will be reached.
We have used eTwinning and Erasmus+ platforms to plan our project–our Turkish partner has created the project in the eTwinning platform at the same time we have started developing this project. We are planning to use all available tools (eTwinning live, Twinspace, Projects, School education Gateway, etc.)during implementation this project as well in follow up and dissemination activities. Combined use of eTwinning and Erasmus+ will provide a learning framework of free and funded teacher professional development of our project and support international learning through integration of national curriculum programmes of study. Our intention is to continue our collaboration two years after the completion of the project through eTwinning projects.
We will prepare a dissemination plan which clearly states responsibilities, the dissemination activities, target groups, resources, deadline, indicators of successful dissemination both during and after the project.A dissemination team will be formed in each partner organization according to the dissemination plan. This team will carry out dissemination activities following the work schedule in the dissemination plan.
During the partnership, results are disseminated using Google Drive for exchanging ideas/best practices/project results among partners. We store there the outputs, documents presented in the trainings and make a resource bank, each partner being authorized to view/edit. Best practices and outcomes will be disseminated on each school’s website, social media and Twinspace.
Inside the organization, we intend to disseminate the project results to school community. Outside the organization, the dissemination plan will consider spreading the positive effects of the project to all teachers, experts, leaders and parents of the other schools, local authorities (municipalities) and local NGOs.
Each partner will keep regular contact with their own Education Directory, Municipality and outside experts. All will play important roles to disseminate the project’s results throughout their countries.
Each partner will plan to organize a big ‘Closing Event’ after the project process has finished. The aim of this Dissemination Event will be both to share the project results and to promote setting the healthy eating habits and physical activity at early ages.
Each output will bear Erasmus+ visual identity elements and the organized events and press releases will highlight the financing agency.
We plan to share the results of the project at the local, regional and national level to increase the impact of the regional and national level to increase the impact of the project. All the analysis and reports of survey, questionnaires, etc. will be published on each organization’s website and on the project web page.Project outputs will be open source on sites and dissemination platforms and will be enriched with further experience and feedback for 2 years following project completion.
