Project Summary
In the current educational reality, as shaped by the health, economic, humanitarian and social crisis caused by the pandemic, all those who take part in educational process, should make sure that we won’t only return to previous levels of learning, but we will improve education as much as possible with even higher learning goals and outcomes. Every educational organization must overcome and, through the difficulties of dealing with a new complex situation, discover and exploit the enormous potential of digital technology to provide more effective online, direct and distance education. Thus, the content of this program aims to provide knowledge and experience to the 6 participating vocational training institutions in order to integrate new and innovative tools and practices of digital technology in their educational process. Through the interaction, collaboration and study of the way and means that each country has adopted and developed in digital education, the readiness of each organization to provide online, blended and distance education will be enhanced. The participating organizations from 6 different countries (Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Romania and Lithuania) will cooperate, transfer know-how, exchange experiences, practices, knowledge and suggestions for the provision of digital education for the benefit of teachers and students. Distance learning in vocational education using digital experiential workshops is a satisfactory solution in cases where access to laboratory courses is impossible, while ensuring the possibility of education for all. In addition, the participating organizations will attend a seminar provided by the specialized educational institution and program partner, on the design of educational programs with innovative and flexible digital tools (augmented reality, etc.) for teachers, but also on the use of these digital tools by students in understanding and acquiring knowledge in a creative way.
The target group is teachers-trainers in order to provide more integrated digital training and students – trainees between 15-18 years old in order to use digital tools to empower distance learning. The goals and the expected learning outcomes covered by this project and are directly related to the needs of the new educational reality, focus on the following:
-The adoption of new and innovative digital practices and tools by all participants in vocational training.
– Growth of personal capabilities and skills through the activation and involvement of teachers and students in the use of digital technology in distance learning and vocational training.
-The construction of a website with digital educational material that will be produced by the teachers and students of the participating organizations in teaching units and laboratory courses of their specialties, but also with instructions and tips for the use and combination of different digital educational tools and resources.
-The creation of an application with the App Inventor program in the form of a questionnaire-quiz for mobile phones and tablets, in order to determine the degree of understanding of the curriculum and achievement of learning objectives.
The objectives, framework and terms of cooperation will be set and agreed at the first transnational meeting of the partners in Brussels, while in the next ones, which will take place online, the implementation of the project will be monitored and evaluated. During the program there will be online lectures and presentations with digital tools, topics that are priorities of the European Union, such as Environmental and climate targets (saving resources, reducing energy and waste consumption, healthy lifestyle), European Cultural Heritage, etc. Learning, Teaching and Training Activities, will take place in each country of the project, where there will be transfer of know-how, exchange of experiences, practices, knowledge and suggestions on ways we can enhance the readiness to provide digital education to vocational training institutions, for the benefit of teachers and students. In addition, teachers and students who take part in them will improve their social and language skills, while developing a wide network of partners.
The acquisition of knowledge and experience by the participating organizations in the provision of digital education, will work exponentially through the expanded network of cooperation and thus the expected impact, through the dissemination of project results, will be significant at local, regional, national and European level.
