Project Summary
We are 4 partners, 2 Romanian, 1 Greek and 1 French (coordinating country). We contacted each other through the Etwinning platform and created a whapsap group. Our project is the realization of an educational garden using different techniques such as permaculture, organic… and a cookbook with recipes from the 3 countries and related to the vegetables grown in the gardens. The objectives are : To fight against school failure and avoid the risk of dropping out, to open up towards other horizons, to go beyond our borders by creating virtual exchanges with Etwinning, exchanges of e-mails and physical exchanges with the mobilities. To restore a taste for foreign languages and to approach learning in a different way with a different pedagogy. All the disciplines taught must find their place in this project. Pupils are between 13 and 15 years old. Some of them are failing at school and are on the verge of dropping out. They need to be re-motivated so that they find the desire to stay in class or, for some, to go back to school. This discovery of the world will allow them to open up to a wide range of possibilities for internships abroad and to accept a job in another country more easily or simply to travel. To carry out this project we will work with the 4 partners together with regular exchanges of our practices and pedagogies. We are going to adapt our courses according to our partners to have a coherence in the project. Virtual meetings will be held to make regular assessments. A real exchange will be created between the pupils but also a partnership between the teachers. During the trips, each country will organize visits and activities related to the theme. The acquisition of interpersonal and intercultural skills is a major challenge for the school of tomorrow, with a view to active, thoughtful and responsible participation in social life as a future good citizen.
The sharing of experiences and the synergy of all the members of an educational community – teaching and educational staff, pupils, families, not forgetting external partners such as elected representatives and associations operating in the territory – represent the most effective strategy for achieving all these objectives and consolidating a common sense of belonging in a European dimension.
The partners in this project shared these convictions in order to accompany the pupils in a process of reflection on sustainable development and ecology, with particular attention to the immediate environment where the pupils live. Indeed, this leads to raising awareness of respect for the environment based on the specific case of the school, in order to build a shared social and civic awareness.
