Project Summary

Main goal of the project “EduGaming for Diversity” is to build capacities of youth organization to contribute to a cohesive and active society, through developing specific competencies in designing educational games addressing social and global issues. More specific objectives are:o To increase the level of knowledge and awareness of youth workers and young people in topics like: social exclusion, intercultural learning and promotion of diversity;o To develop practical competencies of youth workers in designing and applying new educational games in youth work;o To develop pro-active attitudes of youth workers to approaching excluded young people;o To increase the level of creativity, innovation, self confidence and trust of youth workers in educational games;o To enable youth workers to act as educational games multipliers in their communities;o To develop abilities to facilitate educational games in diverse settings and youth work contexts; o To contribute to a long-term change in educational approach in youth field.These objectives are fulfilled by implementing two mobility activities for youth workers and youth leaders from 9 European countries and building their capacities to create and effectively use educational table top games in direct work with young people, with focus on youth work programs with topics of diversity, intercultural learning and social inclusion. In addition to training courses, participants were supported in creating educational table top games, based on the needs of their target group, with the goal to encourage young people to take active part in promoting diversity, fostering intercultural learning and ensuring social inclusion. After second training course, participants were working on developing educational and youth work programs, centered around topic of diversity, while using table top games as method for education, awareness raising and call to action.Results of this project include 5 new educational table top games developed and disseminated to interested organizations in Europe, as well as greater interest among youth workers for using educational table-top games in their work with young people and their confidence in creating new and innovative games based on young people needs and interests.
