Project Summary

Ladies first! two-years Project aims to empower teachers, trainers and counselors to facilitate and empower women beneficiaries in order to gain the necessary stability in-between working and personal life, especially in the framework of crisis.
Based on two successful interventions (Work Life Balance in Greek Women Employes in national / Greek level and U-Coach! in European/ LLL level), within the context of this proposal, 7 partner organizations (Educational authorities, Schools and VET providers, companies and social partners) from 6 countries will work together to develop Ladies First! Project, extending their scope beyond the borders of their own countries in order to define common strategies to address work life balance for women in Europe. Participating organizations will use and promote also European transparency tools such as EQF, ECVET and Europass, to promote transnational mobility, following the recommendations of the Bruges Communiqué, Supporting VET in Europe.
Adults seem to try to find a balance among three different aspects/fields in their life: work, personal and social life. The most challenging task seems to be the effort to find a harmony between work life and family, especially for women, in the current occupational circumstances. More specifically, people, and especially women need to deal with multiple obligations and commitments and their main goal is to find a balance between personal and working life. Employees express the will and the necessity to find practices that may lead to a more balanced life, but also employers seem to understand the cost of a lack of harmony between work and personal life, for their employees. Practices aimed at achieving a balance between life and work can have long-lasting benefits.
To support women in their work life balance, seven partner organizations (Counselling NGO’s, research centers and VET providers, companies and social partners) from six countries (Greece, Cyprus, France, Portugal, Bulgaria and Italy) will work together to develop Ladies first! project, in order to define common strategies to address women work life balance through coaching in Europe. Partners will:
a) Identify skill gaps, educational factors and successful methodological approaches to deal with women work life balance coaching. (IO1 State of the art report)
b) Enhance the professional development of Counseling Units and VET educators facilitating the assessment, validation and recognition of learning outcomes for Women support and gender mainstreaming. (IO2 ECVET Training Curriculum)
c) Create useful resources to disseminate better understanding of different and innovative methodological approaches for supporting women towards work life. (IO3 Handbook)
d) Design practical activities, based on the Ladies First! innovative pedagogical approach, to support counsellors and VET educators in their counseling everyday work and routine with women (IO4 Toolbox)
e) Design and implement an innovative digital space and practical tools addressed to both counselors and educators to develop knowledge on different elements related with women work life balance and support through interactive learning elements (IO5 Training Apps and learning platform)
The main target users of the project products are Counselors/ Coaches and VET educators. Final beneficiaries are women – users of these services who face issues with their work life balance.
