Project Summary

EMPOWERMENT ZONE AHEAD!- is a mobility project addressed to youth workers & leaders from Western Balkan, EU countries & Turkey that will work together in an intercultural environment focusing on the theme of empowering the work of their NGO in the field of youth employability, through non-formal learning methodology.

The main aim of the project is to strengthen the capacities of youth workers with knowledge, skills and practical tools for development of young people with fewer opportunities’ competencies to boost employability in their communities.

This project will make together 38 youth workers from 12 organisations coming from 10 countries: Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, FYROM, Turkey, Italy, Montenegro, Poland & Estonia.

Participants will share experiences, discuss different alternatives and perspectives and generate solution for the better employability of youngsters in the future in the local level. Beside mentioned above, the participants will be equipped with practical tools and knowledge (through sharing and thematic workshops) to increase self-awareness of young people and easily transferring them (self-awareness) into marketable competencies, as well as supporting them with useful techniques how to successfully move in the labor market.

The project will last 7 days (excluding travel days) and will take place in the city of Durres, Albania from 2 – 9 May 2017.

The objectives set by the consortium are:

• To promote sharing of best practices, challenges, ideas, obstacles and policies related with youth employability in Europe among participants

• To update knowledge of youth workers with new online resources ( map portals, platforms) and strategies for European job opportunities and the ways to use them encourage active job search of young people

• To enhance youth workers’ capacities on finding new creative ways to raise the employability competencies of young people with fewer opportunities.

• To emphasize the importance of the Key-Competencies within Youth pass for finding a job and to support young people in the process of acknowledging of these competencies

• To create a network of youth workers and multipliers for future collaborations in the field of youth employment

• To promote the role of the Erasmus+YiA & Non Formal Education as tools to boost the employability and labour market awareness of young people in the Western Balkans countries and EU.

The project is based on non-formal methodology and will have a holistic & experiential approach based on participants’ needs, motivations and experiences. We will provide space for exchanging of views, opinions & experiences on topics related to European youth work, education & employability. . As well in this project participants will reflect on how the new cooperation plans in the youth field and follow up projects on youth employability can be effectively disseminated and further developed into positive results and new actions.
