Project Summary
Our top priority is to develop the entrepreneurial spirit of a group of 30 pupils (comprized of 15 Belgian and 15 French pupils). The targeted classes are those where most students have already repeated a class in their school years.
Our aim is to motivate them as soon as they attend high school. This will prevent them from repeating a year again and failing their exams. Even if our curriculum is stuck in reality, pupils are passive in class. It is in the face of evidence that they are barely involved in the high school.
When we get in touch with companies where our students in L1 do their training period, they keep underlying the same flaws. As a matter of fact, the students are said to be too self-centered. They are deprived of any spirit of creativity and curiosity. They are not inclined to work overseas. They find it difficult to co-operate in transnational teams. Most workers are confined to their own activities without developping a broad vision of what is at stake in a company. Moreover, to develop communication skills (both written and oral skills) is part and parcel of the basic skills required by companies. Yet, these very skills are discarded by our collaborators.
Here are the different tasks.
During the first year :
-from October to February 2015 : our pupils communicate via emails and skype with their partners to strike up friendship. They study a company. They work in transnational teams. They compare the different ways of undertaking projects in both countries. They use a shared planner to plan their activities as well as shared documents to work in collaboration. They work on the video as they have a lesson quite at the same time in their timetable (on Tuesday, in the afternoon). The best video of each school be edited on the website of each school.
In April 2016, every student from each country will participate to a company game with transnational teams. The Belgian pupils should have been hosted by their french partners. They have the opportunity to create a fictive company during this experience.
From September 2016 to September 2017, the pupils take part in these mini-company games until the climax in February with the organization of a conference in Belgium.
They create many dissemination operations : they share their experience with primary school, junior school and high school. They also inform the public during such events as open doors day and closing evenings.
The achieved results :
– the evolution of teaching practices.
– that changes perceptions towards entrepreneurial spirit.
– belgium culture would be better known.
– the development of the professionals ability to grasp and integrate the European dimension into the fields of education.
We expect students to be eager to undertake things in associations and in their schools.
We also expect pupils to pursue higher studies.
This project develops the creativity skills of the pupils. It improves the employability and the capacity to adapt within transnational teams.
The pupils will have to develop skills throughout their working lives which will span a thirty-year period, as is written in the Bruges Communiqué. This project requires that the pupils share their formal and unformal knowledge.
This project is paterned on one of the strategic objectives of « Education and training 2020 » whose aim is to develop creativity and innovation, including spirit of entrepreneurship at all levels.
