Project Summary
« Entrepreneur Spirit » is a project dealing with the creation of companies in high schools (general, technological or vocational schools) and aims to get ready to work abroad.
Four countries were concerned in that Erasmus+ project : France, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands. At the end of September, the National Agency rejected the Netherlands, so we were 3 countries finally : France, Germany and Spain.
The project is divided into 2 parts corresponding to the two-year duration of the project.
During the first year, students had to create a “Junior company” in each partner country.
Each country created one respecting the same line, ”tourist development of our regions”. That challenge was quite easy for the Spanish partner, but less for the German Partner and least of all for France because of its mining region in the North of France.
The particularity of that joint approach was to work together, compare, help and share our works.
The organization that made the device possible is: The Junior Achievement Worldwide Association, available in every country.
The second year was focused on a more practical and active preparation for students to get ready to go abroad, in Europe. The different tasks were to be able to write a CV in English, know the structures and the possibilities given by Erasmus+ projects, train for a job interview in English with a professional, know how to create a company, be able to negotiate and work with official structures such as the Chamber of Commerce, the Regional Council, the town hall…
The first aim of that project was “decompartmentalization “:
– At school : the different forms, levels, ages, specialties
– At a local level : concerning the local structures in order to open the building to local partners taking part in the project
– At national and European levels : open the frontier and let the students have an entrepreneurial experience with other young people and other structures in Europe.
The project gave the possibility to students to follow a new task in their curriculum, to work in teams in a new and original way, to practise foreign languages and be open-minded. That aspect was a necessity in the project : give the young a new and critical view on his school or on the teaching staff. They represent an advantage in a short, middle or long term we noticed and discussed.
They will be developed in other parts of the project but we can already consider it as a benefit since French, Spanish or German students took the opportunity given by that project and they moved forward in order to have a work experience, a summer job or study abroad.
