Project Summary

COVID19 emergency produces severe consequences on a socioeconomical level: economic crisis and social distancing measures hit the cultural ad creative sector and there is the talk of Shecession for the profound consequences of the crisis on women that exacerbate existing inequalities.
The issue is sharper if we consider that access to the labour market is one of the main steps in the integration process of migrants, and migrant women, who represent more than 1/3 of them, find it particularly difficult.
The Migration Policy Group believes that self-employment ands entrepreneurship represent a promising option for migrant women to access the labour market, if adequately supported. It is therefore necessary to provide essential transversal skills: entrepreneurial, to stimulate female entrepreneurship and reduce risks, and digital, to be able to innovate services in view of the changes dictated by COVID.
In this context, adult organizations do not offer entrepreneurship education paths suitable to provide entrepreneurial skills and mentality to the target group, nor do they carry out actions that facilitate access to them.

In summary, the needs for low-skilled migrant women and adult educators are:
– increase competitiveness in the labour market, made more precarious by COVID19
– develop interest in learning and knowing about training support actions
– develop basic entrepreneurial skills and knowledge of IT tools (more useful for COVID effect)
– develop capacity to innovate existing tools and initiatives of entrepreneurship education, not adapted to the target audience
– increase the ability to transfer content and involve through distance learning in the COVID era with innovative tools tailored to the target audience.

The partnership EASEWE (Entrepreneurial educAtion for Self-Employment of immigrant WomEn) aims to contribute to the restart in the cultural and creative field by encouraging self-entrepreneurship of migrant women in the sector, increasing their employability with tools that strengthen digital and entrepreneurial skills aimed at self-employment and business creation.

Specific objectives:
– to support the work of adult educators by developing a path of entrepreneurship education designed for the cultural and creative sector and functional to female self-entrepreneurship, supported by IT tools
– encourage low-skilled migrant women’s interest in self-employment and improve their spirit of enterprise
– to promote access for low-skilled migrant women to entrepreneurial and digital literacy paths, with a focus on the economy of culture, and to develop transversal skills
– exchange and disseminate information and best practices in entrepreneurship education and support to entrepreneurship of migrant women, to stimulate public and private initiatives and support innovation in the cultural and creative sector in the postCOVID era.
