Project Summary

The “Erasmus + for Environmental Education: E3E” project is part of a strong French and European context:
– On the French side, it is part of two major concerns of the French National Education: the reform of the French high school, started in September 2019 AND in the plan of “Generalization of Education for Sustainable Development – ESD 2030”, decided in August 2019 by Jean-Michel Blanquer, Minister of National Education and Youth (Circular 2019-121 of 27-8-2019).
– On the European side, “E3E” is in line with the environmental and climate objectives promoted by the European Union and in particular those of the Erasmus + programme, which aims to support awareness of the challenges of the environment and climate change.
The “E3E” project also provides a tool for the policy defined in the new academic project which, in his 3rd aim, sets “Internationalisation of the schools of the Dijon academy” as one of the priorities for the period 2019-2022 .

Eight partners from four European countries (France, Denmark, Italy, UK/Scotland) are associated around the GIP-FTLV of Burgundy, coordinator of the action and whose steering will be ensured by its Europe-International Pole.

The E3E project aims to support the actors of Education teaching in LYCEE (targeted level due to the selected context) for the acquisition of new environmental skills and the introduction of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in their practices. The European cooperation and the learning activities that will be implemented, will allow the introduction of innovative resources in the curricula, in order to rethink educational practices and by reinforcing an INTERDISCIPLINARY pedagogical approach.

The pedagogical experimentation envisaged in the E3E project is based on an innovative approach aimed at mobilising learners, both teachers and pupils, to become real actors of change: teachers, by participating in exchanges, analysis of practices and construction of tools, pupils, by appropriating European tools and opportunities, and then by becoming a force for proposals among their peers.

A group of students, target public, will thus be selected in each country, i.e. 24 students in total, who will take part in learning activities in workshops and who will be accompanied by the educational teams of the four countries. These transnational teams will themselves participate in ‘teacher workshops’ which will be co-facilitated by a network of ESD experts involved in the project, which is the focus of this proposal.

Finally, this project aims to create various initiatives among young people to promote their involvement as environmentally friendly European citizens. The project management has also set itself the objective of rethinking the ways to organize the European collaboration in order to reduce its carbon footprint: distance working will be a valuable means of achieving this.

The dissemination of the action will be carried out by all the partners and its sustainability ensured thanks to the advice and support of the Canopé network, a professional organization in the dissemination of educational resources, known and recognised at national and European level.
