It is also vital that they use their talents in the best way and possess the leadership and problem solvingqualities (creativity, confidence, motivation, responsibility, adaptability and communication skills) to prosper in the yearsahead.
The common objectives were :
– developping innovation with Mogees and using softwares.
– developping digital skills and promoting ICT
– developping cooperation between european students to promote european citizenship
– discovering european cultures through arts and music
– developping specific skills in arts and music
– improving the learning of a foreign language
– enhancing student motivation, particulary those at risk of early school leaving and with low basic skills
– To enable students to work as a team, lead their own work and give them an insight into life after school.
– developping cooperation between teachers to promote exchanges of professionnal practices, improving teaching methods and innovation at work.
ERASMUSIC+ had been a common thread, a link for all the pupils during these 3 years for the 5 public schools involved in the project: CEIP Argantonio in Sevilla (SPAIN), Kiiminkijoen koulu, Oulun kaupunki in Oulu (FINLAND), Openbare basisschool De Mienskip in Buitnepost (THE NETHERLANDS), Zakladni skola a materska skola cerveny vrch in Prague (CZECH REPUBLIC) and Ecole élémentaire Fort Rouge in Toulon (FRANCE).
A character from each country has travelled in order to make a music band. Every school has drawn and made this character (as a ‘mascott’) and sent it to the others partners after the First mobility with pupils in Finland.
During the 3 years of ERASMUSIC+, pupils had the opportunity to learn and listen to foreign songs (English and partners languages), write the project anthem , write lyrics, create rhythm, sing traditional songs. They’ve created music with an innovative tool: the MOGEES.
All these activities and products had been collected in a final product with the creation of a songbooklet.
It has given them ownership of the learning and motivate them to be at school and learn more about Europe and its various cultures and languages. They had to work in teams and assign tasks, work to deadlines and produce anything from written text, videos, images and podcasts on certain topics for each edition. It is designed to test their leadership and problem solving skills while helping them to communicate more effectively with each other and with people from around the world.
The topics had been designed to make them think about and question their position in Europe as they examine each others lifestyles, traditions, customs and views. The CD booklet has been distributed to all the partners participants, local community and families. With the use of Etwinning virtual workspace, students had been able to upload a wide-range of material to share with partner schoolsand, through email, Skype, video conferencing and post, they could have communicated with each other effectively.
Students and staff had the chance to visit each other’s schools, during transnational meetings and training courses for teachers.
Five Learning/Teaching/Training Activities had been organized, involving about more than 1000 students and teachers.
At the end of the project, a final meeting in Toulon has been organized with 200 pupils and 22 teachers. They have all performed in a final concert.
For teachers, this cooperation gave them opportunity to improve their teaching methods, to be more creative and innovative at works. Two Training courses had been organized to share experiences and learn from others. Participants has improved their English teaching, ICT and Music skills, using etwinning and European tools. The participant teacher had the mission to explain and share with the others teachers of the schools
