Project Summary
A desired effect of the project is the foundation of the first European Youth Council and the creation of an awareness of the need of sustainable action in a local and global context. The target groups are not only pupils, also parents, families and local organisations. Therefore, in addition to all students of the school, their parents will play a main role in the project. In order to promote and dissimulate we present the Erasmuspl project on Europe Day in all countries. This will be associated with an open day, so as many people as possible will have a look into the project and the EU support. Also the participation of Greta Thunberg from Sweden will be a great help to catch attention for this theme. Also during a “Friday-for-future demonstration in Bremerhaven”.
For the successful implementation of a culture of cooperation within the school and with others educational institutions we also need to educate and convince teachers who are not involved in the project about the necessity of a functioning teamwork. Therefore, the teachers of their own school, as well as representatives of other target groups, are also involved.
An ideal concept for creating a culture of cooperation is the creation of an international network of schools or educational institutions, we start with the youth councils in all participating countries. As a startin example we work with the Youth Climate Council of Bremerhaven.
The responsible group for this network are the schools involved in the project . Therefore educational institutions that generally wish to participate in such a network are very welcomed to participate.
Local and regional dissemination activities are the responsibility of each school schools. The schools will support each other and benefit from the experience of the partner school. Each school will have at least one person who is responsible for updating the school homepage The intermediate and final products of the project are regularly presented at conferences, online, on eTwinning and other social medias. At regional meetings with school representatives of other regional schools the coordinators will present the project as multipliers. At the end of each short-term exchange there will be a closing event in which the project participants report about short-term exchange and created products will be presented. These closing events will be attended by members of the school community , invited parents, officials and local media.
Another important point is the Climate Youth Counsil. We planned to install the first European Climate Youth Council in the partner countries, together with the administration of the municipals in each town. In Bremerhaven we have 6 years experience with this council, and we hope to realize this goal for our project. We are happy about the participation of Greta Thunberg (with the Swedish team)as a great help to achieve everything we planned, and as a great motivation for everybody.
