Project Summary

The world is shaped under Industry 4.0.It is the era in which we face unprecedented changes particularly in the field of technology and feel the impact of brand new technologies(e.g. 3D Printer)in our life.The countries increases their competitiveness and so educating the young people according to the needs of the era is becoming a must to meet the future challenges.This new era demands from the individuals brand new skills and qualifications and makes it necessary that the individuals in this age must have the profiles who are inquiring,innovator,inventor,entrepreneur,enginering and producing the theorotical knowledge to solve real-life problems.The skill-based methods and STEM,as one of the innovative approaches of 21.century comes to the forefront in the education of the young people.
Taking this reality into account,we,as four densely motivated high schools,gathered to work through an eTwinning project titled” eSTEM 4.0″ on the application year and conducted a presurvey.But results indicated that our students are low achievers in praciting basic Maths and Science skills to solve real-life problems and insufficent to transfer their school knowledge into real life situations and lack in using STEM approach and are unaware of Industry 4.0 and new technologies.So the unsatisfactory results of the presurvey led us to start Erasmus+ project with all the same partner schools with the expectation of getting significant impact on the students and the school education.
With this partnership,we aim to;
help the students transfer their theoretical Maths and Science skills into practice and particularly solving real-life problems
develop their basic entrepreneurial skills and the problem-solving,teamwork,communication and cooperation skills
promote their digital competences
raise their awareness of Industry 4.0 and its sub- technologies such as 3D Printers the Internet of Things,(IoT)
develop their intercultural competencies thanks to eTwinning and LTTs
develop their foreign language skills
promote European dimension in school education
All the schools in the partnership are high schools,three of them gives general education and one gives vocational education on secondary level.The students are aged between 14-18 in all the partner schools.The project covers two kinds of activities;project tasks and Learning,Teaching and Training activities (LTT)to realize the common objectives.In all partner schools, we will include over 500 students into local activities as well as eTwinning project.In the scope of local activities,the students will take part in STEM Club,take surveys,design online model cities,evalaute and disseminate the activities and work on eTwinning/Twinspace…etc.
65 students and 18 accompanying teachers in total will join 3 three LTT activities from the partner schools.At least one student with fewer opportunity will be included in each LTT.In LTT activities, the students will work on three themes,two of those working fields are among the EU 2020 Strategy Growth Targets.(Energy and Climate Change).This will give them the opportunity to practice their knowledge on the field of energy problems and climate change and smart living spaces.For each LTT activity, we are planning to work on different themes with a STEM approach.
The general themes in each LTT activities will be;
Turkey:Smart Living Spaces
Greece:Climate Change
Italy Energy Problems
The project places all the students at the centre of all the activities in the terms of their active participation and implementation and dissemination of the project activies.Thanks to the various project activities,the students will research,inquire,enginer,solve sub-problem conditions which we will give them in the field of climate change and enegry problems and smart living spaces.
Thanks to this partnership,we will produce concrete results as follows:
-an ebook for student practices on Smart Living Spaces
-an e book for student practices on Climate Change
-an ebook for student practices on Energy
-Online Education Platform which will include online education on STEM,Entrepreneurship, Indusrty 4.0 and new technologies such as The Internet of Things,3D Printers..etc.The education will be written by the experienced teachers of the partner schools.

Thanks to this partnership,we expect the students will raise their basic skills in Maths and Science by using STEM approach and be more inquiring,entrepreneur,maker and familiar with new technologies and use them and develop foreign language and digital skills and raise their EU awareness and will be motivated future Erasmus opportunities during their higher education.Teachers will adopt new teaching methods,utilize new technologies and accept interdisciplinary and skill-based approach to meet the needs of the digital era.This project will give the partner schools the chance of promoting their capacity of working internationally and promote European dimension in school education.
