Project Summary

The project “Europe at School” was implemented through a period of one and a half year with activities all around Europe aiming towards development and building the capacity of youth organisations, youth workers and educators towards a quality European civic education. The specific objectives of the project were:

• exchange good practices among individuals and associations already engaged in these activities or interested in getting engaged in them
• develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes of young youth workers to allow them to plan and implement quality Europe at school activities
• reflect upon the existing tools and resources for Europe at school activities
• initiate a synergy building process in order to develop new projects and to foster cooperation between the participating individuals and organisations.
• develop bridges and synergies between the formal education system and nonformal and informal education environment
• develop a training and educational kit and a workshop methodology usable by different educational system and individuals

The aim and objectives were achieved through the following activities:
Series of international educational activities (seminars) organised in France, Portugal and Belgium that trained more than 60 volunteers of the participating organisations and broader who developed their competences (skills, knowledge and attitudes) for implementation of quality European civic education at local/national level. Each of the seminars was specified towards the development of competences of working with diverse groups and contexts (primary school, secondary school and VET institutions). Every seminar offered space for the participants to practice their skills either through practice exercises within the group or visits to the educational institutions and practice directly with the young people
The established partnership which gathered organisations with diverse experience that met 4 times during the project duration. The partners through the implementation agreed to approach Europe@School as a programme/platform and with that developed a visual identity and website they are going to continue using in the future.
Creation of training kit with materials/workshops that will be available on the website with information on how to implement European civic education in diverse environments. Beside the tools that will be available online the partners developed an online library which will be available to all the volunteers of the participating organisations that will be implementing future actions.

The project was a great starting point for future collaboration with different organisations and institutions on the subject of European Civic Education. The partners are ready and motivated to continue the great work.
