Project Summary
This project is directly linked with former partnerships: with the Group of Schools Damiao Goes (Portugal), during the school year 2016-2017 (with a KA101 Erasmus + project), or with new partnership with the high-school Neira Vilas, in Spain. The main purpose is to increase European mobilities of students, thanks to cultural open-mindness and more especially theater. This new project qill allow us to improve and increase for students and also for teachers our experiences. Furthermore, each high-school of this partnership has a theater work group, which allow each student to improve himself/herself (with self-sufficiency or self-confidence).
Another main purpose is to open-mind students with culture, thanks to theatre, which is one of the most important key strenghts for each high-school of this project. Students can improve themselves by leading new abilities (independence, self-confidence). Theater more widely allows to become closer to other dealing with current or wider subjects. It also allows to increase personal talents (which are difficult to improve and to show in normal school work).
Staging, representation, work on scenography or public speaking are some of the most important aspects we would like to increase and to lead with this project. These abilities or skills will be essential for students in their academic or professional life for instance. These abilities are not necessarily showed in normal school work. That is why the leading teachers of this project want to carry out a new partnership based on new partnerships, new methods (with both theater and transnational exchanges). Other projects of theater are also led in regional or national scales. This change of scale seems essential to the leading teachers, linked with European teaching sections in every high school (LPO Raphaël Elizé in France, Damiao de Goes in Portugal, Xosé Neira Vilas in Spain). Foreign exchanges, European open-mind or exchanges will be strengthened with a few number of teachers, like a core. Other links will be created and promoted with theatrical professionals (especially in Spain and in Portugal), in order to create new abilities (both for students and teachers). These links could be remobilised in future projects.
To achieve this, the teachers involved in this European project (only six, in order to lead correctly and efficiently this project) will oversee 24 students, from several nationalities, giving priority to the project scope. The purpose is to create a common identity, but also to give sense to learning, bringing face to face points of view from foreign students or professional partnerships (some of them could more widely take part in the theatrical or artistic world).
Patnerships implemented throughout this project will afterwards used to promote the attractiveness and international openness of high-schools concerned. More broadly, this project will open up further opportunities for students to go abroad, thanks to contacts with foreign partnerships (such as high-school, outside actors from artistic or theatrical world).
