Project Summary
“Europe Our Future” is about reminding adults and teaching young people about the “European Dream”, increasing their knowledge of E.U. achievements and functions and interesting people in its
future, promoting transnational mobilities for young generations and increasing competencies in our first foreign language: English.
Presented by Lycée Pierre Termier in Grenoble (France), this partnership involves 4 other schools: Gymnasium Plomariou in Lesbos (Greece), ISIS E. Stein in Gavirate (Italy), Skofiska Gimnasija in Vipava (Slovenia) and IES San Isidoro in Sevilla (Spain).
We will analyse and debate with the students about the school and jobs systems of the partner countries as well as their social inclusion policies or the issues of E.U. citizenship, gender issues.. This way, we hope that, in developing a growing awareness of the political, social… issues, we will contribute to their knowledge of the E.U. and build a real European citizenship in our schools and a new generation of European actors.
Students will come from 5 high schools for 5 international meetings. They will prepare each mobility by studying -with the help of their teachers and with other students- the current topic characteristics in their country, then they will meet, exchange, compare… with the help of experts. Reports will be drawn in the form of oral presentations to classes, special issues and articles in the schools newspapers and other supports (videos, exhibitions). Coming back, they will communicate with their fellow students and- when possible- with students from neighbouring schools, on what they learnt during the activities, and so increase the number of interested parties. Students will develop their communications skills: preparing and delivering speeches, organising debates and interviews, reporting…, increase their interest in the E.U and discover the cultural treasures of the partner countries while improving their practice of the English language.
We hope this project will be an example of what cooperation, good will and personal involvement can achieve and so reinforce the European Identity and Institutions.
