Project Summary

CONTEXT
El ceip La Marina is located in the neighborhood of the port of Castellón where the fisheries, port economy and large chemical plants have favored a strong immigration since 1950. The majority of immigrants come from the Andalusia, Basque Country and Maghreb as well as Eastern Europe and South America. Most families within the community come from the lower-middle class. Many face problems presented by unemployment, single-parent families, orphanage and migration. Our project aims to be a common thread among all three countries at a formative and informative level throughout all sectors to promote a more tolerant, participatory, equitable and equal way of thinking.
ANTECEDENTS
Our center has participated in European projects from 2000-2011 through Comenius and from 2012-present through Erasmus+.
OBJECTIVES
This new project addresses the social and educational reality within our school: being that more than 50% of students require special attention due to compensatory needs, special learning needs and challenges presented from immigration. This is precisely why the transnational nature of the project is so important. Dance, language, culture and technology are a critical part of the educational program that work to maintain a communicative, peaceful and inclusive Europe. These objectives stem from the needs of the previously stated context and are adjusted to those needs of our partner countries.
We intend to use dance as a form of unity and social integration, promoting co-existence, inclusion and digital equality by conceiving dance as tissue of intercultural articulation. We will also consider the technological reality present for European communication and relation.
NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS
-Students- With more than 3150 students from different countries and social classes between the ages of 3-12.
-Professors-Who teach pre-school and primary school and belong to Spain (the coordinating center), Romania, Italy and Slovakia
-AMPA and the parents of the students
-Cultural and Institutional Associations
All of the the above are a part of our project and require a participatory and integrative sentiment that is open to current needs.
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES
The project is intended for pre-school and primary school students from all participating schools and will stem from the needs and wants of the teaching cycles of those participating in the development of the project and from the coordination between the three schools.
They will have playful, attractive and appropriate behavior according to their different educational level or grade.
According to their implementation, they will be Nationals and Transnationals including all the educational population.
They will vary according to profile: formation, participation and performance
METHODOLOGY TO BE IMPLEMENTED
The method of the project will be based on:
THE PARTICIPATION: All sectors will participate in the preparation
OPENNESS AND FLEXIBILITY: To promote inclusion and address the modifications necessary to obtain this
INTERRELATION: of both the different countries and of the different areas of knowledge involved
ACTIVE AND HOLISTIC EDUCATION: The parts of an integrative, motivating and practical education for everyday life
DESCRIPTION OF RESULTS, IMPACTS AND LONG TERM BENEFITS
The project intends to ensure that our students learn to live their lives with tolerance and respect within a motivating framework and to generate new knowledge that will help them to achieve their goals on an emotional, cognitive and personal level. It will also promote the development of a resolutive capacity in order to face professional challenges. This knowledge of cultural diversity through ICT and its collective digital competence will prepare students for the current reality, while also promoting activities related to art and communication within social networks. This will assist with professional preparation at a national and international level.
New technologies will provide access to blogs, platforms, web pages, chats, video conferences, recordings, digital tutorials, short films etc.
In addition, it is expected to improve educational preparation, formation and philosophy in search of a more open and enriching society. The impact of this project will affect all educational and social sectors by improving living conditions and knowledge (the webpage already has 31,000 visitors). It will also improve the relationship and proximity with partner countries, as well as improve the cultural environment (conservatory of dance, music school, cultural entities, universities, theater groups and film groups). The inclusive, open and informative nature of this project will allow the expansion of information to many different population groups that access the website: students, educational professionals, families, universities, training centers and other interested users.
CEIP La Marina has 6 pre-school units, 12 primary, 29 teachers and 11 non-teaching employees.
