Project Summary
Project title: European cities in the process of shaping and transmitting European cultural heritage.
International education program for 1st and 2nd degree students. European cities in the process of constructing and transmitting of European cultural heritage. International curriculum for undergraduate and master students.

Context: The project was intended for academic teachers and 1st and 2nd degree students of partner institutions. It concerned the shaping and transfer of Europe’s cultural heritage, its multicultural and transnational character, shaping the social and cultural unity of Europeans, European identity and active citizenship, and the ability to function in a pluralistic society. The city in the project was understood as a place and a tool to find a cultural community between the national heritage of partner countries and the cultural heritage of Europe. The project strengthened the internationalization of partner universities, professional development of lecturers and students, and was in line with the Bologna system and the agenda for the modernization of higher education. It introduced elements of on-line learning and strengthened the modular curriculum. He introduced a pilot form of e-tutorials.
The implementation was based on the needs of target groups, diagnosed as a result of surveys, interviews and conversations with students and academic staff of partner institutions, as well as an analysis of the thematic literature.
Objectives achieved: strengthening the internationalization of partner universities; improving the quality of teaching, implementing a modular course in partner institutions, developing digital teaching materials for on-line teaching; adjusting the program offer to the needs of students and the requirements of the labor market (also intercultural); building awareness of cultural unity and the shared cultural heritage of Europe; strengthening the scientific position and professional development of participants, their international research, scientific and publishing activities; facilitating access to RES results.
Target groups: lecturers, doctoral students and students of partner institutions, and from outside the partnership; local decision makers, representatives of science and education. Direct participants 4 partner institutions, including 20 professional staff, administrative and financial services. Indirect participants – people participating in dissemination events, readers of publications and visitors to the project website
Results, actions:
a) common methodological, thematic framework of the module & e-tutorials (O1)
b) 80 e-lectures, presentations & other teaching materials (O2)
c) syllabuses for the modular course (O1)
d) summer school program (O5)
e) hybrid summer school (C1 and C2)
f) an international textbook for students, in English-online in the open access formula https://books.akademicka.pl/publishing/catalog/book/341 printed in a pilot number of copies; sent to libraries (O4)
g) bibliographic list of literature for the implementation of the module (O1)
h) 4 disseminating international conferences (E1-E4)
Added value-articles, seminars; synergy between higher & school education – the program of the international in-service training course for teachers (available IV 2022), additional publication (as part of O4)
Dissemination: Results available online: website, YouTube, Erasmus + Results Platform, libraries, promotion via scientific and educational conferences of “foreigners” and an international course for teachers
Project Impact (also in long term):
* for partner institutions: enriching and developing international cooperation; raising prestige; consolidation of the team of employees; initiation of new cooperation; increasing the competitiveness of the university / department / institute / plant
* on persons / lecturers: support for professional career development, new publications and interesting research, increasing employee assessment, increasing linguistic, cultural and social competences, strengthening stress resistance and work in extreme situations, counteracting cultural steroptypes.
* for students: expanding knowledge and level of competence, awakening new interests, establishing international cooperation and new acquaintances, tightening cooperation with academic staff, improving language skills
Sustainability of the project: the created syllabuses of the module were introduced into the permanent educational offer of partner universities; the results of O1-O5 include permanent on-line access in the open access formula in the network and in libraries; the offer of the course for teachers will be available and valid also after the end of financing.
