Project Summary
The “European School of Entrepreneurship” project was implemented in SP16 in Gdańsk from 1/10/2017 to 30/09/2019 in cooperation with SP in Palermo, Italy. The schools jointly achieved the main goal of the project, which was to increase the knowledge and competence of 20 teachers in the field of teaching social competences and support professional counseling by implementing international cooperation activities SP 16 in Gdańsk and SP in Palermo consisting in the exchange of knowledge and good practices during the period. The project involved 40 students aged 11-12 from SP in Gdańsk and SP in Palermo (Sicily) and 20 teachers employed in the abovementioned schools.
By participating in the project, teachers shared their experiences and knowledge in the field of teaching social competences (entrepreneurship and initiative, teamwork) and supported the educational and professional development of their students.
Teachers participating in the project conducted lessons for students in teaching social competences, lessons related to career counseling, thanks to which they gained vast knowledge in these areas and thus shared their knowledge and skills with other teachers. Through international learning-related meetings, teachers have expanded their communication in English. This translated directly into an increase in the quality and effectiveness of education in SP No. 16 in Gdansk and SP in Palermo in Italy. By participating in the project, students have been better prepared to choose the direction of education and know and are able to apply acquired social and personal competences. They met interesting professions: confectioner, florist, fireman, pilot-stewardess, baker. They had interesting conversations with people performing interesting professions, e.g. sportsman, dietitian. Participation in the project enriched the workshop of teachers from both schools with scenarios for teaching social and personal competences. Participation in the project prepared students to be European citizens, while international teacher meetings shaped attitudes of activity, improved language and interpersonal communication.
