Project Summary
Tourism is one of the most dynamic economic sectors in the world. This continuous growth in tourism is accompanied by increased consumer awareness of sustainable (environmentally friendly), participatory and inclusive tourism.
– Raise awareness on the theme of sustainable and inclusive tourism, understand the business opportunities it offers and how to take advantage of them individually or as a group of young entrepreneurs. In this way, the EYR project promotes the involvement of young people in innovative projects in the field of participatory and sustainable tourism.
– Develop a coherent strategy to improve and diversify the promotion of sustainable and inclusive tourism services
– Recognize, develop and fully exploit the potential of cultural and natural heritage (develop tourism of high value/low volume (specialized) rather than high volume/low value (mass)).
– Produce the results of new innovative approaches to better support competitiveness and employment, in particular at regional and local level and promote the integration of young NEETs. The tourism sector has significant potential for the development of entrepreneurial activity, as the vast majority of tourism businesses are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The main target group is young entrepreneurs active in tourism in rural areas with declining populations and/or in areas suffering from the economic crisis.
Trainers, representatives and other staff of tourism-related associations and business advisory and support organisations will also benefit from EYR. It is through them that the results will be transmitted to the final beneficiaries. The project consortium is composed of 7 organizations. The majority of the project partners are organisations supporting young entrepreneurs, businesses (tourism sector and creative industries) and regional agencies.
LE LABA is a non-profit organization with 7 years of experience in the development of cross-sectoral and European cooperation and works to develop and promote strategies, resources and attractiveness of the creative, tourist and sports sectors of New Aquitaine.
EUEI is a training and consulting company based in Denmark. Its activities include training, management consulting, quality assurance, evaluation and development of ICT solutions for the private and public sectors.
Materahub is an agency that supports entrepreneurship and preserves and promotes heritage. The agency is a member of many European networks dedicated to companies in this sector of activity. It is in charge of managing protected heritage sites and hosts young companies that specialize in sustainable and inclusive tourism.
MMS is an Irish vocational training organisation that focuses on the development of progressive learning programmes and an educational platform with a particular focus on the tourism economy.
Vismednet is an organisation dedicated to improving and developing the skills of young NEETS people in order to support their entrepreneurial projects in the heritage sector.
Filmworks focuses largely on the inclusion of young NEETs through training on writing and dissemination through audiovisual media in the sectors (including the enhancement of tangible and intangible heritage)
New studio specializes in the audiovisual enhancement of sustainable and inclusive tourism initiatives.
The project uses a clear, comprehensive and high quality methodology, including the 3 phases: Strategy, Development and Implementation. This is expressed in the construction of the results since all the results contain activities (for preparation, research, development, testing, implementation and dissemination) covering the phases mentioned above. The following results will be developed as part of this project:
– Awareness campaign
– Manual – How to implement participatory, inclusive and sustainable tourism?
– Manual – How to promote the results of your tourism from participatory, inclusive and sustainable
– Online platform and community
The expected impact is to enable the target group of young people to develop entrepreneurial initiatives and skills in the field of participatory, inclusive and sustainable tourism. They will be able to use the skills and competences acquired to improve the competitiveness and quality of their offers. The project will also have a sustainable impact on communities, the tourism sector and support for youth entrepreneurship from local to European level.
