Project Summary
The Project involved 2 general education high schools, the Italian coordinator, and a Finnish partner:both have improved the quality of their provisions for learners through on-site(six)and virtual mobilities(two)for pupils and staff, increasing their ability to work in the framework of international projects. It has directly involved 100 people.Activities:4 short-term exchanges of groups of pupils;4 short-term joint staff training events, that have trained participants to manage the timeline and rules for sharing;compare eachother’s assessment systems;enhance assessment skills;create more efficient assessment grids;adopt good practices at a personal(teachers and pupils)and a systemic level. Thus, critical thinking,
values, attitudes and behaviours have been boosted to allow participants to practice skills and knowledge acquired. It has, also, developed and disseminated tools for assessment of basic social and civic competences for pupils, especially European citizenship(e.g.Learning to learn individually/in groups).Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship:ability to turn ideas into action through creativity,to plan and manage projects.Cultural awareness and expression,in an international environment, and high quality professional competences for teachers(e.g. assessing quality and relevance of one’s own and pupil’s competences),as well as different learning approaches to reach out educational goals. It has supported individuals in acquiring and developing key competences, including transversal and soft skills, foreign language and digital skills, fostering a socio-educational development. The Project has supported redesigning of usual educational practices, allowing pupils to achieve their personal fulfilment, becoming more aware of the results they aimed at,either at school, or in their life;it has also strengthened teachers’ professional profile improving their skills, particularly in the fields of interculture and evaluation, demanding innovation.
The extent of its impact has been widened by the people from the two partner cities, involved in the activities and, especially in dissemination(pupils’families and hosts).A strong educational impact has also been proved, through implementation of:a proEuropean citizenship approach, integrated into the school activities;an overcoming of the self-centred approach in assessment and evaluation procedures;an increase in students’ motivation and active participation into school life;an increase in teachers’ motivation because of a new systematic methodological approach.Sustainability will be granted by the other local schools(lower and upper secondary)that have become acquainted with the results, and that will be proposed the new evaluation protocol.Besides, the partnership will live on through a stable educational twinning and an exchange of pupils and teachers, that have already been agreed on,for more peer reviewing, training, teaching assignments, research. All those activities will be carried out either on-site or on line.
