Project Summary

Bullying is complex and project strategy started with an examination of the school climate and ensuring an effective school-wide policy. All partners considered that the best tool against bullying is prevention. They proposed some project tools to create bully-free school environments.
The aim of the project was to raise the awareness on one of the most important problem of student age, ‘Cyber bullying’. Project partners used new teaching methodologies, strategies for preventing and responding to all form of abuse, some educational tools to approach an antibullying perspective and to treat this problem, safe use of internet.
With partner’s experience and professional practices teachers involved in BULLY-FREE project shared methods and educational tools to create new ones in order to meet local needs as well as possible. Tools and methods proposed about the dangers of Internet were result intercultural exchange of experiences, practices and theoretical reflections, having an impact on students by offering them a different education prospective, new ways of learning, like critical thinking, research skills, team work, ICT competences etc. At the same time this project equipped teachers with new tools to combat many forms of violence and to introduce an European dimension in the classroom.
Project activities encouraged students to come together to improve the climate of their school and to build a partnership based on the diversity. Students were able to see their roles in the school community and to prevent bullying in their school. They learnt to be more safe and secure online, that is very important for them to report and stop school violence.
This project offered the possibility to gather the knowledge and evaluate similarities between partner states. During the project, participants exchanged the ideas on how to develop language skills and to improve one’s own social skills.
Partner’s actions were focused on learning process and teaching others successful strategies and skills to prevent cyberbullying, creating an environment where rules of conduct are clear, children feel safe, and everyone understands that bullying is not tolerate.
During the 2-year project time all involved staff from partner schools, teachers and students in particular, prepared posters and art exhibitions, video presentations, statistical surveys at the partner schools on the topic, workshops, shows and multicultural campaigns against bullying and cyberbullying. Tools and methods proposed were result intercultural exchange of experiences, practices and theoretical reflections. According to the profiles of learners, partners produced brochures, applied questionnaires, created short videos, few calendars, posters, logo contests, school antibullying campaigns, 2 newsletters, etc.
We consider that all pupils, teachers, stuff and local community had a benefit from establishing a relationship which would help them communicate and work with pupils and teachers from other European countries.
