Project Summary

Feel it is a project represented by 7 partners from different countries in Europe. In answer to KA201 – Strategic Partnerships for school education call, consortium will be composed by 4 secondary schools from Portugal, Spain, Turkey and Romania, 1 education centre from Prague, 1 university from Poland (coordinator) and 1 training centre from Portugal.

Main aim of the project is to developing emotional and social competences of 12-17 years old students within blended learning programme using digital tools and distance learning approach and provide teachers/ school educators with innovative and training contents and digital tools to apply emotional intelligence skills in their daily activity thus improve and update theirs pedagogical, methodological and procedural knowledge and skills.

This process is composed by 2 outputs:

IO1- e-learning platform- The main aim of this result is to create an e-learning course to develop emotional and social competences among students using digital tools and distance learning approach. The E-learning course will be used in schools in the pilot phase based on the blended learning programme and the flipped classroom concept. Consortium will create an e-learning course based on pop culture , it means: movies and series, music, comics, media’s and social media situations or some stories about the lives of famous people in pop culture. Partners chose pop culture because it is the natural environment of students’ life, their interests, activities and conversations and many of the artifacts of pop culture are the same and common to young people in different countries. Partners will select methods and work tools adequate to the given topic. The course will contain 5 modules:
M1 Analyzes of movies, songs, books and stories of pop culture in the context of emotions;
M2 Digital storytelling;
M3 Comics;
M4 Role playing;
M5 Autopresentation and correct communication techniques.
Each module will include a similar structure: instructions for teachers to provide virtual classes, webinars, interactive resources for each topic prepared by teachers, video tutorials, task for students with instructions, self asessment tools and face to face evaluation of students’ work in classes. The core activity of this results will be will pilot phase for students. Consortium is planning engage 25 students from 6 partner countries (Portugal, Spain, Romania, Turkey, Poland and Czech) in age 12-17 (total 150 students). Each student will take a part in at least 80h blended training programme (30h elearning platform and 50h independent work of students using technology-outside the platform- and with the constant teacher/educator assistance). We are planning enageg in pilot phase at least 16 teachers/school eduators.

IO2- E-book- This output will respond on question how to organize online training to develop emotional and social competences for students at school using idea of blended training programme? The e-book will include practical tips for teachers how to organize virtual classes and video testimonials of teachers participated in pilot phase of the project.

Tu support deeper teachers in field of digital competences consortium is planning organize 2 LTTA in Faro and Prague (16 teachers/school educators will participate). We will organize 5 transnational project meetings in following countries: PL, ESP, TR, ROM and PT. It’s very important and planned action to organize TPM in school partners countries (except kick off which will host by CB). Each of the school partners will be able to visit schools from other countries, and learn about the good practices of the host partner. What is important is that in each school the partners will have the opportunity to meet the pupils participating in the project, which will have a significant impact on the exchange of project experience.

It is considered very interesting for teachers learning innovative educational tools so that students achieve better academic results and the quality of the teaching-learning process increases, while their emotional intelligence, motivation and communication to increase both to the teachers and the other students. In addition, the personal and social development, which makes possible the coexistence in democracy and the construction of personal and social well-being is vital. In this sense, it is important to motivate to want to continue learning, which is a form of emotional intelligence. In this way the project impact is to promote technology as an innovative practices for support students with low level of social and emotional competences at the same time improve digital competences school’s educators and teachers as regards new innovative digital tools and distance learning platforms, in order to provide them with the skills required to create, manage and develop innovative training tools beyond the project.
