Project Summary

FABAS (Fighting Against Bullying at School) is a strategic partnership, ‘school education’, organized by the Regional Council of Pays de la Loire, that aims to start a reflexion on tools and methods to fight efficiently bullying in schools. Indeed, bullying is a reality in every country, every school all over the world, with truly harmful consequences on the physical and mental health of bullied pupils. This project proposes to provide answers at the European level to the school staff, the trainers and pupils involved in the improvement of school climate.
The first exchanges between the project partners, spread over five EU countries (Spain, Italy, Lithuania, Belgium and France) highlighted different working methods to effectively combat bullying. Indeed, each of the eleven project partners, namely : six school establishments, an association, Progetto Crescere Cooperazione, the Kaunas teacher training centre, the Regional Council of Pays de la Loire (local authority) and the Rectorat of the Academy of Nantes and the Liège Province, each have their own methods. Pooling their strategies, tools and protocols will make it possible to develop a collective response to fighting bullying that can be disseminated and tested in their respective territories. To this end, three areas of work will be addressed : prevention, detection and resolution of cases of bullying.
The project has therefore three objectives :
– To improve the detection of bullying cases through to the creation of a reading grid and an indicator directory, following an inventory of the situation between each partner.
– To draw up a draft common protocol within each establishment that is shared between the various players and is based on a catalogue of good practices studied during the project
– To improve the resolution of bullying cases by the creation of a tool worksheet dedicated to solving the bullying cases.
Different types of learning and training activities will be implemented to meet up these objectives: activities and workshop will be set up within the structures in the framework of the project, including the different actors (school staff and pupils) upstream, during and downstream of the training mobilities. This will allow to discover, test, and deepen protocols and tools shared during mobilities among the different European partners. This project will give a central place to pupils who are the main actors in bullying situation at school.
In conclusion, this project aims to deepen and develop new protocols and tools that are transferable and that allow each pupil to follow a successful schooling in a serene school climate.
