Project Summary
The name of our project is “Fit 4 life”. It addresses students aged 13-15 learning in primary schools in the following countries: Poland, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Lithuania. About 80 students and 60 teachers will be directly involved in international exchanges, but the project will involve a much larger number of people, an estimated additional dozens of students from each school, a dozen or so teachers and many parents.
The main objective of the project is to exchange good practices – because the project is about cooperation, it is mutual learning from each other, it is a common pursuit of tasks. And that’s how it’s going to be in our project, each participant will sometimes be a teacher and sometimes a student. A comprehensive approach to teaching and learning English is important to us. Here we will focus on enriching vocabulary and practical use of knowledge gained during lessons. It is important that participants acquire confidence and conviction that they can communicate in English in any situation. Technology will also help us to achieve this goal, because thanks to the eTwinning portal and social media, the students can communicate with each other at anytime, the distance is no longer an obstacle. We will show young people how to make use of the fact that we live in a “global village”. However, we can not go to extremes, for us the counterweight will be to focus on a healthy lifestyle, promote a balanced diet and care for social activity.
Our activities will be two-way, on the one hand we will move to the virtual world. We will create a blog, a website, present various videos, presentations, and communicate with messengers. On the other hand, the scope of activities in the real world will include preparing healthy meals, taking part in trainings and sports competitions, and international visits. The use of different methods will allow us to reach as many recipients as possible, and most importantly, using the method of occasional exercises and practical activities, we will learn through action, experience, creative problem solving, and not only through theoretical lectures. This knowledge gained will prove useful the following years. Baggage of experience gained during the project will be a source of knowledge and we hope that habits shaped at a young age will bear fruit in the future. Students will be able to use knowledge about modern technologies, as well as knowledge of a foreign language, for example when looking for a job in the future, participation in a project can be their asset. And the need to take care of our health is an undeniable fact.
This project deserves to be implemented, as the planned activities involve a lot of people and have an impact on their further lives.
