Project Summary

The Project “Towards Conscious and Inclusive Tourism in Europe” is part of a commitment made to young people and society, aiming to reinforce and expand initiatives, in terms of investment in the European Dimension, in line with the objectives of the Europe Strategy 2020, of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations and Sustainable Europe by 2030.
The network of partnerships established includes schools in Bulgaria, Spain, Greece, Italy, Lithuania and Portugal (Coordinator), with reciprocity between the objectives. The teams comprise collaborators with extensive experience, who consider internationalization to be a highly relevant factor for the education and development of all entities / sectors involved, factors that constitute general goals of the project.
Cooperation between European Schools is one of the main objectives, at the same time as developing cultural identity and valuing different cultures, and the importance of sustainable / inclusive tourism and entrepreneurship, where sharing, a spirit of collaboration, intensive use of new technologies and optimization of transversal and linguistic skills. It is intended to contribute to the sharing of good practices, namely in the area of ​​Sustainable Tourism, protecting the region and being an International Eco-School.
The entire school community will be involved, and a group of 45 students is expected to be formed in each school to directly integrate the activities, with 20 students from each school, aged between 16 and 18, participating in the mobilities, being a significant part from disadvantaged socio-cultural / economic contexts, increasing motivation and social inclusion. The following activities stand out: analysis of the habits of tourists, identifying the impacts and ways of traveling that preserve the environment, and the evolution of tourism; field visits; workshops / research on environmental and cultural sustainability of tourism; conferences / visits with observation of the dynamics of hotels / agencies / municipalities, allowing them to later simulate their own business, developing the entrepreneurial spirit. 10 teachers from each school participate in the mobilities. A Blog will be built and the project’s Twinspace will be created where the phases and results will be released, which can be visited by all interested parties.
The project is of crucial importance by allowing participants the opportunity to contact other countries, enhancing the capacity for adaptation, feelings of self-worth and a posture of respect, tolerance, greater civic responsibility and a sense of belonging to the European Union. The experiences and skills acquired will be certified and validated through certificates and the Europass Mobility Document. The exchange of experiences between teachers will enrich professional skills and the material will be produced / used in class, having a positive impact on the teaching-learning process methodologies, extended to other schools through the dissemination of results, encouraging them to participate in projects. under the Erasmus + Program. In addition to face-to-face meetings, communication and consistent feedback through the telephone, eTwinning tools, email, skype and facebook are privileged.
The following results are foreseen, among others, thematic bulletins, blog, flyers, videos, Guide to Conscious and Inclusive Tourism and workshops. In the medium / long term, it is expected, among other results, to reduce school dropout and increase motivation for success, greater demand from new students and the strengthening of the entrepreneurial spirit, through the creation of their own businesses.
Differentiation of schools will be promoted, increasing social recognition, placing them in a very favorable position in the eyes of society and stakeholders. The motivation to invest in transnational politics and in the dissemination of results, with the consequent strengthening of ties, will be one of the strength lines, allowing them to be used to the benefit of all.
The spectrum of results will last, after the project, through the dissemination / dissemination of results to other groups, through the Blog, eTwinning, the achievement of activities such as Road Shows in schools and the use of a set of channels provided by the National Agency and Erasmus + Program, which leads to an increase in the quality of education, in the practices of the entities, as well as in the valuation of the tourism sector, guided by sustainability and inclusion.
It will contribute to strengthening a positive and healthy image of Social Europe that needs to be reinvented, particularly after the situation in which we live due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It remains certain that the answer we are able to give is against the backdrop of the Union of Europe as a sustainable way of preserving social cohesion towards a promising future.
