Project Summary
Context
The project’s origin responds to the demands of teenagers surrounded by the digital world and devices. They are immersed in the digital world within the reach of their thumb and require the skills to manage the obstacles they encounter or take advantage of its potential. The skills they will acquire during the project such as problem-solving, communication and collaboration also multitasking and adaptibility and finally, foreign language will certainly be of key importance in their future careers.The knowledge they will collect and the new experience will let them manage the social media world with reason and confidence and possibly allow them to carry help for other pupils and affect the choice of their future professions.
Target group
Students aged 15 to 17 will be invited to participate, as they are open and flexible in shaping a positive approach to the digital world. The students from six schools represent various cultural, geographical and social backgrounds. A number of them bear economic obstacles and the project will focus mainly on such based also on their digital and linguistic skills as well as school achievements. Special attention and care will be put on students who require additional support from the coordinating teams. There will be 120 students who attend the LTT – 20 per country during the meetings. They will be directly involved in the project activities and also about 300 students involved indirectly in the course of activities.
The project also includes teachers who will be able to expand their knowledge of the social media world and its meaning in teenage life which will lead to the decrease of the gap between generations of digital citizens and digital immigrants. There will be mostly English teachers engaged who incorporate digital skills in their teaching but other teachers who find digitalisation education vital will also be part of the team. 12 teachers will participate in each meeting (60 in total).
Objectives
The overall aim of the project is to equip students with the strategies of dealing with social media issues such as health, safety & privacy, hate, media literacy, digital footprint and media marketing. We focus on developing digital skills and improving health issues when creating the Digital Guide. The power of international relations and cooperation increases the findings of the work.

Methodology
The project work focuses on five stages:
Preparation – review of the theme, the origin of the project, needs analysis, establishing partnership
Development – the application process, designing the activities, products, tools and resources, meetings arrangements
Quality Control & Monitoring – quality & evaluation – specific and general, questionnaires, reports
Dissemination – constructing the dissemination plan, designing the project’s website and other social media products, production of promotional materials
Management – formation of coordinating teams, implementing online collaboration tools, coordination of the activities and meetings and tools

– Digital Citizenship Guidebook – online handbook
– the plan of a workshop on Digital Citizenship and social media and 7 workshops for teenagers

Impact
Students will acquire knowledge and skills about the postive and negative aspects of social media, strengthen the skills of dealing with the problems and finding solutions supported by experts, the choice of their future university career can be affected by the activities in the project.
Teachers will take part in proffessional development by increasing technological skills and linguistic skills eaqually with other teacher competencies such as demonstrating leadership and management, creativity, problem-solving and collaboration and building a positive rapport with pupils.
Schools’ participation in an international project is motivating for students and creates an attractive way of learning foreign languages in the local community. Improvement of international cooperation with other schools which allows for exchange of practice, resources and ideas.
